Top 22 Movies and Shows of 2022

Alright so I watched a lot of movies and shows in 2022 and these are the 22 that really stuck out to me! Most of these are first watches for me- and I have to kind of mention one that's not on my list but might have been my favorite of the year: Only Murders in The Building. I love this show, I love Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez... but because it's in its second season and it is not the final season- it's not on the list. No particular order on these-just how I thought of them!

1)Saw Movie Series

I started the year off basically by watching every single Saw movie... and I was really surprised! I was under the impression that these were just about torture and violence and no plot... but it's not that violent and the twists in the movies make up for the lack of plot. It's like a horror soap opera! I really liked them particular the first 3... 3 is definitely the best in my opinion but they're all fun to watch- even if they aren't the best.

2) James Bond

2022 was the year of James Bond to me. I watched every single Bond Movie this year and I enjoyed the series. Not every movie was good but... it was good to watch every single one.

3) Wednesday

Wednesday is maybe my favorite new show of the year. The dance scene was really funny, Jenna Ortega just did a really great job. Best thing Tim Burton's done in years!

4)Nope

This is the best movie I saw in theaters this year was Nope- the "alien" movie directed by Jordan Peele! This was peele's funniest movie and his scariest movie. I need to watch it again cause I only saw it the one time in theaters- but I was so impressed by this one!

5) Clerks

I saw most of the Kevin Smith movies this year- Clerks might not be my favorite favorite... but this is what I'm putting on the list. Ironically- I think Clerks 3 was my least favorite movie of the year but Clerks was a good movie and one of the funniest I saw this year.

6) Atlanta

Atlanta had its series finale this year and while I wasn't that much of a fan of the last season- the last episode was so so good. It was such a fitting end to the show. Also The Goof that Sat By The Door was really good. I really like this show!

7)Turning Red

Turning Red I think was my favorite Disney Movie of the year. It was a cute coming of age story that just kind of worked really well. I loved the characters, the music... it was a little more serious of a Pixar movie I guess- but it was still a fun movie.

8) Bullet Train

This was like a surprise favorite of the year. I thought the movie looked good but when I saw it in theaters- it was just so exciting and I loved how everything was set up and it all came together. This was an exciting one that not a lot of people talk about!

9)The Batman

I really need to watch this one again. I think Robert Pattinson might be my perfect Batman. I also really like Paul Dano- he does so many good weird roles he made a really good riddler. The style of this movie was also really cool and Dark. This was probably the first great movie I saw of the year.

10) Minions: Rise of Gru

I love minions so there's probably always going to be a minions movie any time one is released. This one was really cute and funny. I saw this with my parents and they both really liked it too. I didn't like it as much as the Despicable Me movies- but I did like Gru in this- which I think fixes the problem people had with the first minions movie. I can't get any more critical about the Minions Movies- it's a minions movie- you know what to expect from it!

11)Black Panther

I saw Wakanda Forever in theaters and the day before I actually watched the first Black Panther movie the day before... that was a good way to watch these movies. I thought the sequel was really good and a nice tribute to Chadwick Boseman.

12) Barbarian

I won't say much about this movie but I'm glad I saw this one in theaters. This is one of the best in theater experiences I've had in a long time.

13) AHS: NYC

This season of American horror Story- had some problems but it was still very different. I liked the acting in it- though there was a lot wrong... I still think it belongs on this list.

14) Nightmare on Elm Street

I didnt think I included this on the list cause... a lot of these movies are kind of bad but enjoyable for the most part. I like that every one has a different theme of some sort. I really liked Freddy Vs. Jason. Great, fun slasher movies.

15) Harry Potter Movies

I'm watching Harry Potter 6 now and I feel like I'm not writing the best cause of this... but I really do love these movies. I am no longer a fan of JK Rowling as a person cause she sucks... but these are fun to watch.

16) One Hour Photo

Surprise favorite of the year. Very stylish and suspenseful- but you also don't want anything bad to happen to Robin William's character- even though he's disturbed.

17) Austin Powers

This we watched along with the James Bond movies because some of the newer James Bond movies just copied Austin Powers... particularly Spectre... but I liked these series.

18) Johnny English

The second Johnny English movie was actually one of the best spy movies I've ever seen... it was really fun! The first Johnny English was the funniest and the third movie was a fun conclusion. Great trilogy!

19) Man Vs. Bee

Of corse I liked Man vs Bee- which also starred Rowan Atkinson! This was funny- it's also very short and easy to watch!

20) Scream

I started the movie by watching the Scream Movies and Scream 5 was the first one I saw in theaters this year.... and this was fun. The first Scream is definitely the best one- but the new one was a fun tribute to that original movie.

21) Thor: Love and Thunder

I liked the villain in this movie a lot. People did not like this movie- but it was my second favorite Marvel movie this year and now that I've seen all the Thors I think this is my second favorite Thor movie.

22) X and Pearl

I liked Pearl a little more than X- but both are fun movies with a fun setting... and a fun gimmick I guess. I thought these might have been overhyped- but I really like horror movies and these are good ones. X might be my favorite slasher movie right now.
