Throwback Thursday: Fall Out Boy Infinity On High
Alright- so this was the first Fall Out Boy album I was actually like excited to buy right when it came out. This was their first new release when I was a fan- so it was pretty cool for me. It was also not cool for me because I remember the day the cd came out- both of my parents got sick and no one could take me anywhere to get the cd. Then I got sick after we were able to get the cd... so I think I was off school the next day... which was okay cause I listened to the album all day but I was actually sick so it wasn't the best.
Anyway- I love this album. I think now in listening to it again it might be my favorite. All the songs feel like they're different- there are no songs where I'm like "ohhh that song is only okay it's just all good and its hard for me to choose a favorite. Back when the album first came out my favorite song was "I'm like a lawyer..." the title is really long. Now Hum Hallelujah, Golden, Don't you know who I think I am, Bang The Doldrums, and The Carpal Tunnel of Love all stand out. There are so many other good ones too... I really like the last 2 songs on the album too- but those aren't really "favorite" favorites. It's just a good cd.
On vinyl it sounded really good too. Songs like Golden- which is a piano ballad is just really beautiful and kind of heartbreaking. The Carpal Tunnel of Love sounds really cool and rock-ish. It's just all really cool and... I was impressed.
I kind of can't believe how old this one is either... I haven't listened to these songs in forever and I didn't remember every one... but at the same time it feels like yesterday.
I feel like this has me on a mission to get every cd I ever owned in record form now... so far I've gotten a lot... and I'm liking them a lot!
Bye!
