Things to do- and eat- in Beverly Massachusetts
Alright- back to Shannon and Aspen's Massachusetts adventure! We didn't really get a lot of time to really explore Beverly while we were there- but we did eat there a lot.
There were tons of great shops and small businesses there- I think there was even a venue for concerts and stuff... we really didn't do any of that- we just kind of walked around and ate. But- I did want to include it because the shops looked really good and they had a little bit of everything.
There's also a beach in Beverly- we aren't beach people but... we could have gone!
The first place we went to was A&B Burgers which had really good burgers and great milkshakes. We got the Tailgate Platter as an appetizer Which came with Potato Skins, Korean BBQ Wings and Potato skins... and they were all really really good. It's been a while since I've had a potato skins and these were really good.
The shake was the highlight of the meal for me. I don't remember what I got- I think it was a spiked Oreo shake with Amaretto or something and it was really good! It was one of the best shakes I've had.
I think I got the Brie Burger and it was good- but there were so many flavors with it. There was jam and cheese and something... It was good... but a bit too much for me.
We also ate at a really cool pub called The Falconer which was really great! We went a little late- so we enjoyed their late night menu and I had a really good Sparkling Wine from a winery that they own themselves I think... they also have a brewery I think that they make and they have a hard cider and hard seltzer. The hard Seltzer my boyfriend had and really liked.
I think I had chicken fingers here and I liked them and the fries were also good. I can't remember the sauce I had them in-but they had a lot that sounded really really good. My boyfriend got the Curry from here and it was really really spicy. A theme in Beverly: Spicy food is actually very spicy! We might have gotten nachos or something as an appetizer too... but it was a month ago and... we did get a bit tipsy so I don't totally remember lol.
Which brings me to the next place we went to: Flip The Bird. The food was good- but they also had a very spicy challenge item on the menu and it was too spicy for my boyfriend... and he can handle spice... and no one really warned him. The food here was great- and I don't want to review the service because we could have seen them on an off day or something... but it was all teenagers who all seemed mean. So if this was a place in New Jersey I'm not sure I would go back there. They also did not have Flip The Bird shirts in the restaurant- you need to order them ahead of time- and that was half the reason why we went there... so that was a bit disappointing.
We also ate breakfast there and they had some really good breakfast spots... but New Jersey has the best Breafkfast Sandwiches in the world because we have Pork Roll- or Taylor Ham if you're one of those people. It's weird to not have it as an option on the breakfast menu even though I prefer Pork Roll and Cheese for Lunch or Dinner. We went to Atomic Coffee one day and the next two days we went to Kaffmandu. Kaffmandu had a lot of great pastries and different flavors of coffee... so we kind of liked the variety we got from Kaffmandu. I didn't actually go into Atomic Roasters with my boyfriend- but the food and drinks were really good. And I can say all the employees at Kaffmandu were really really good.
Overall Beverly is a lovely place to stay if you don't want to stay in the city and I would go there again and explore Beverly a little bit more as well. It reminded me of towns like Red Bank- which is a favorite of ours.
Bye!
-Shannon
