Shannon’s Adventures: NYC Adventures trying to Rush Broadway Tickets

Okay- I did my shucked review last week- so my NYC trip post will be this week! Alright!

So the last time we went to New York to see a play- the train was delayed and we ended up being like 20 minutes late for the show and... it was stressful. So this time I didn't get tickets beforehand and we were going to try to go by boat.

We ended up being a little late for the boat- we probably still could have gone- but I wasn't sure if we'd be there in time to get Rush tickets- so we went by train and- we didn't have tickets so we didn't have to worry about being late for it.

There were some subway delays- so we didn't get to the theater quite as early as I wanted to- we got there a little after 12... and there wasn't much of a line for tickets. We were excited- we thought we'd be able to get the Rush Tickets- which are $35 each.

We ended up being JUST A LITTLE too late- if we had gotten on a different subway we probably could have gotten them- but there was just one left. I thought we could try to rush another show- but we wanted to see Shucked before it closes- so I got 2 tickets on the Mezzanine level- which were $59... so it wasn't really that much more than the rush tickets. I wish I had gotten different seats just because it was like a tough squeeze in the seats- but still it was good. We were all the way in the very last row of the mezzanine- but it wasn't that bad!

Getting tickets right at the box office was pretty easy and fun- and I want to try rushing a show again... maybe on a weekday.

After we did that we went to Miniso- which was RIGHT NEXT to the theater. It was really exciting to see a Miniso in real life and it was a little overwhelming to see all this cute stuff in one place! There was Sanrio, Minions, Disney, Snoopy, We Bear Bears and We Baby Bears... I'm going to do a haul of everything I got next week but it was fun!

After that we went to Juniors for Lunch... I didn't take pictures but maybe I'll do a Foodie Tuesday for Juniors... but it was really good- fairly affordable- easy for 2 people to get in and... it filled us up.

After that we went to a new NYC favorite place- Book Off. This is a Japanese book store with a huge selection of new and used books, dvds, manga... a lot of things. My boyfriend is learning Japanese and his teacher recommended he look at the Japanese books here. Their prices were really good for the used items- and everything was in good condition compared to some things I've gotten at thrift stores.

After we were done at Book Off- we went to the show- which was a pretty easy walk from Book Off. There was some confusion as to where our seats were- but we had enough time to go to the bathroom- we probably could have gotten our merch then but I waited till intermission. My boyfriend stayed at our seats and told me to surprise him with merch- so I got him socks and the cd... and I got myself a sweatshirt. They had good merch. Also ask if you can get a sticker cause they're funny.

After that- we made a quick stop to The Disney Store- but the upstairs was closed so- I couldn't look for the one thing I wanted- which was a Lizzie McGuire tumbler... they did have the mug- but I think they usually have the tumblers upstairs.

So we went back home after that- we had about a half hour wait for our train at Penn station and then we headed home where my mom made us some coconut chicken ramen and it was perfect for the cold day.

Bye!

-Shannon
