Shannon’s Adventures: Hamilton Oktoberfest

Okay so earlier this month I went to Hamilton Nj for their Oktoberfest- which was an awesome free event held at this huge park in Hamilton. There were tons of food trucks and vendors as well as local organizations and businesses giving out things like tote bags and little gifty things. It was a lot of fun!

First thing we did before going to the festival was stop at Hamilatte- a local coffee house that was having live performances at the time we went… which was awesome. Recognized a song from Into The Woods right when we walked in and the singers were doing really well and seemed to be having a great time. Packed coffee house for sure!

Then we made a quick stop and walked our way to the park. It was a good distance from where we were going from but it was sooo busy we would have had to park a while away anyway… so walking was great.

We got some loaded fries from fry boss I think it was called and I got a pizza cheesesteak pretzel… lots of flavors going on there and my boyfriend got a hot dog, I think his mom got a pretzel. There were sooo many food trucks and things to choose from.

There was also a lot of great places to shop at! My boyfriend got me a candle from a really nice candle store… it was a really great blackberry scent. I also got a local authors book collection basically. The author’s name is Mark Vogel, I bought 4 books of his which are all horror books. He has one series, a new anthology book, and a book about Jack the Ripper. Very nice man, signed each of the books individually and he was really great! I look forward to reading his books!

I also got a steel ring that some guy was selling for $10 and it has an owl on it and almost every time I’ve worn this ring since I’ve gotten it I have seen a large bird… so it’s kind of cool and kind of spooky.

We also got some movies and cds from a little free library they had from the Hamilton library. I forget exactly what we got but we got The Box with Cameron Diaz- which is a movie I think about all the time, and The Frank Sinatra Manchurian Candidate. We are big Denzel Washington fans and we just watched his version of The Manchurian Candidate- so we’re really excited to watch the original. I want to do it closer to Election Day lol.
