Shannon’s Adventures: Decorate a Small Tree With Me!

So my grandmother loves Christmas decorations and I had gotten her a snowman pillow- but that ended up having a big hole in it... sooo I got her a tiny $10 Christmas tree from target and we tried to find some decorations for it.

So my mom found little lights that she thought would work for another tree not realizing how small it was- it worked perfectly for this tree though!

We went to look for some decorations at target too- but we couldn't find much... I just got a little Candy Cane holding a gumdrop best friend plush thingy.

I would have gotten the decorations from target... but there weren't that many left- so we went to Dollar Tree. I got 2 tubes of rose gold ornaments, I got one thing of snowflake ornaments- I think this was the last one left. I got ribbon- which I intended to use as Garland... but it didn't look good. I got 3 boxes of ornament hooks (we always need extra anyway) and I got large red poinsettia and a small gold glittery one.

First we put the lights on- then I tried using the ribbon as the garland- but it didn't look good so I took it off and my boyfriend suggested tying it on the bottom of the tree or the base like a tree skirt- so I tied it in a little bow around the bottom.

I stuck the pointsettas in the tree- I put 2 of the big red ones at the bottom- I used one of the gold ones as a tree topper, and I used the gold throughout it too. We had less of the snowflake ornaments and more of the gold ones... so we kind of just put them on the tree. We had more of the glittery ones towards where she could see it best. We put the candy cane and gumdrop decoration at the bottom.

I also got a felt Garland that had cute little ornament decorations and it was colorful. I figured we could hang that somewhere in her house.

Overall- It was really easy to get the stuff- It was fun to decorate it together... and my grandmother loved seeing us working together to get the tree nice and pretty! She was really excited to see that.

So if you know someone that needs cheering up- this was a good way to do it! I think the tree and everything I got from dollar tree cost less than $30. I didn't use everything I got at dollar tree and I'm sure the lights and the candy cane gumdrop thing cost a little more than $1... but this was fun and cute to do! And I'm happy with how it turned out!

I couldn't get the best picture of this and the lighting isn't great... I wasn't planning to make a blog for this- but it was honestly too fun and too cute that I really wanted to share it. You could definitely do things to make this fuller looking or different- but this made my grandmother happy and that's all that really mattered.

Bye!
