Scream Sunday: Why Stu is the Brains and Not Billy.

Okay so… you guys should know… I love Matthew Lillard. I can’t explain why- I just love Matthew Lillard. And… I know Roman and Billy were the real brains behind the operation and that the Loomis family are all killers… but I didn’t think Stu was just following along with Billy because Billy was his bro or because Stu was in love with Billy… I think Stu is the real crazy one.

I don’t know if it’s because Stu was revealed as the killer before Billy that I’ve always just thought of him as more in charge… but it makes sense. He wanted revenge against Casey for leaving him for a new guy… and Billy wanted to scare Sydney by killing the person who sat next to her in English class… so he got Billy to go along with him.

I think Stu also… needed someone who was a little smarter and a little more suave. I don’t think Stu talked to anyone on the phone because I think he would have just laughed or made them laugh… but he knew Billy had a way with the ladies. Heck you could still say Stu was in love with Billy and because he was so attracted to Billy- he knew anyone else would be able to do anything he said.

We also see what Stu’s house looks like and we see his room with all the creepy hanging clown dolls. It seems like he was more into it because he had issues and Billy was just doing it for revenge.

Also Stu was supposed to be alive and he was supposed to be the second killer in Scream 3… and I wish they had done that. It was considered too violent for a time when there was a lot of violence on the news… but I wish that could have been.

Okay- so that is why I think Stu deserves more credit than Billy for being one of the big bads. In Scream 5 Sydney says “Billy Loomis started this” and didn’t even mention Stu… but obviously they‘re both equally responsible and I just happened to like Stu more. Partially also because… you know Billy is the killer. It’s obviously the love interest- you don’t suspect Stu as the other killer so I just thought that was a better reveal.
