Scream Sunday: My Case for The Original 3 Being The Killer

So I've seen all of the Scream Movies except the new one that comes out next week. I've written my reviews on Scream 2, and 3 and those will be coming up soon... but I thought I'd do a fun post on why I think the killer could be one of the original three.

Disclaimer... I'm sure the original 3 will not be revealed to be the killer. I don't think that's what Scream fans want... It would be kind of a good reveal though. And all 3 of them are on the poster and the poster does say "The Killer is on the poster" so it could be one of them.

I also believe the third killer theory for Dewy in the first movie... I'm always a little suspicious of him... although I kind of only think he killed one person. Which maybe we'll find out in this movie. Who Knows.

Gale Weathers

Okay- out of everyone I definitely don't think it would be Gale Weathers. She's ambitious, she seems like she's jealous in Scream 4, and she's pretty cutthroat... but I just don't think she would write books about the Woodsboro murders, and then become Ghostface... but maybe that's why she became a reporter in the first place! Maybe she was so fascinated in the murders and she's just been planning her own killing spree this whole time!

It's unlikely... but who knows! I think she'll end up surviving- and she'll probably be back for another movie. And if not- maybe she moves to california or something.

Sidney Prescott

Okay... so Sidney hasn't really been the main character since the first movie... Scream 2 I guess she kind of was... but really if you think about it... she's not the main character. She's also killed more people than a lot of the killers. According to Scream Wiki- she has the 3rd most kill counts of any movie with 5 people (Stu, Roman, Mrs. Loomis, Billy, and Jill.) So she's killed more than Stu and Billy! Plus... everyone in her life pretty much other than Gale and Dewy (and possibly Judy? who knows if they know each other) has died. She's seen her cousin kill her aunt, she was responsible for her boyfriend's death in Scream 2. She had to kill the man she lost her virginity to... She's been through a lot in 5 movies and maybe after all that... she's got nothing left to lose and she snaps and becomes the one thing that's been tourmenting her for most of her life... Ghostface!

I'm not sure if I'd like this reveal or not. I think it would make sense... It might take away from the original trilogy and make it hard to watch the first 4 movies again... but I feel like they could kind of make it seem like there are 2 different Sidney's and that it's just after all that in the first 4 movies that she couldn't handle it anymore.

Dewey Riley

Okay... personally I think Dewey has been a killer the whole time. Not THE Ghostface killer- but A Ghostface killer. I think he might be obsessed with Sidney and maybe after his relationship with Gale... maybe that kind of stopped him from killing any more people. I think it's weird that Dewey was close with Tatum... but he never once talks about her death... maybe that's just how he copes with her murder... but it's just suspicious. Also it's the one kill of the movie that was more of an accident than an actual motivated kill. She tried to escape and she was the smartest and most successful... but it was the garage door opener that ended up doing it.

Now I know it was probably Billy because he just cares about the kill count and Stu would care more about "slicing and dicing" also Stu knew she was dead when he was trying to accuse Randy of being the killer... but it just seems like... maybe it was Dewey.

Also... Dewy is pretty clumsy... and that's kind of a trademark of the Ghostface killers. They all kind of trip and stumble.

Also he just happens to be carrying a ghostface mask when he sees Sidney after Ghostface tortured her in the first movie... seems weird.

I don't think they'll reveal him as the killer in this... but if you see him as a killer in these movies... I don't think you're wrong.

I'm kind of hoping/ thinking this movie will clarify that. I think maybe Dewey will die in this movie and that maybe he'll say something about his sister or CONFESS something about her... I've heard from Early Reactions the 2 ovies you need to see are Scream 1 and 4... so maybe this is the scream 1 part.

Who Do I think Will Actually Be The Killer?

I think everyone is thinking its Judy Hicks and her son... I think that too. Her son is the guy that played Clay in 13 Reasons Why...it would be good to see his face revealed as Ghostface. Also Judy was kind of a Red Herring in Scream 4... it almost doesn't make sense for her to be the killer in this scream... but at the same time... I just think it has to be. They often have family themes throughout the movies... so it makes sense for it to be Judy and Wes Hicks. It's kind of something they haven't done before... but I think it would be a good reveal.

Alright- that's everything I think I have to say! I cannot wait to see the new movie. Hopefully I'll see it as soon as it comes out...
