Saw X Movie Review

Yesterday was an exciting day! It was the first time I saw a Saw movie in theaters. I watched them all at home and I love them... and now it was time to see it in theaters.

So this one takes place somewhere within the first 3 movies... so I would say to watch Saw 1-4 before watching this one. There are some characters in this movie that you kind of need some context for... although if it's been a while since you've seen those movies you may not recognize the characters.

This one has a slower start but I think the game itself might go a little faster... so it was well paced. We see John Kramer go to get an experimental surgery and... some plot spoilers here... he gets bamboozled- and then gets his revenge.

I would say this is the most morally gray saw movie of all and... it's kind of hard to root for anyone. What the people in the trap did was awful- they're horrible people but at the same time... John should have known better than to fall for a scam. I get that he was desperate but... he still could have researched a bit or used better judgment. In a way no one deserved to be in the trap and everyone deserved to be in the trap... and everyone kind of was which made for an exciting ending.

The game itself had a lot of layers that... in the big "Hello Zep" reveal at the end made for a good reveal... but if left some questions. The questions were kind of answered because we saw the moments from different POVs and we see all the things we kind of missed earlier in the movie. Or the things they left out rather.

I feel like this was back to the better Saw movies as the best characters of the movies are John Kramer and Amanda. And really that's what's been missing from the movies. Spiral was not the best movie partially because there was no Tobin Bell and I feel like it went downhill after Amanda left too. So...this

was much needed and I'd rather get one more of this movie then like 7 spiral movies. I'm not sure if they're planning on making any more of either of movies but... that's just my thoughts.

The traps also seemed not super survivable... but the characters also weren't really trying that hard... so they could have done better. And there's a fake out of a trap in this movie so... yeah.

Overall I really liked this movie. If you love the first four Saw Movies- you might like this one. I would say calling Saw a "Torture P**n" movie is a little too much. I would say it's like a very gory horror soap opera. The twists and the reveals and the drama of it all are very everyday things that are dramatized like a soap opera- but there's also a lot of gore and blood and peoples body parts coming off... so if you're okay with some fake blood and body part props and you like soap operas- this would be a good horror movie for you!

Bye!
