Saw Sunday: Saw 1

Okay… after finishing the Scream Movies my boyfriend and I started watching another one… and this might be even better than Scream… it’s Saw. He’s already seen Saw (seesaw) but I’ve never really watched it. I think I knew one of the twists in Saw 2 because I think I saw that part of the movie or I saw it on Access Hollywood or something... but other than that... these movies have some twists.

I had heard this movie described as a “torture p*rn” and I don’t think that’s what this movie is at all really. It was suspenseful… but it was less gorey than I thought it would be! There are definitely episodes of American Horror Story with more gore. If you’re very sensitive to gore I still wouldn’t recommend this… but if you’re okay with it and you can look away for some gross parts and still probaby enjoy the twists at the end especially.

There were definitely some parts in the middle that weren‘t the most interesting. It might have just not aged well- but I definitely kind of half paid attention to some parts and I still really enjoyed it because the end of it is just so unbelievable and so good.

Also a lot of actors in the first 2 movies have gone on to do CBS shows- my mom watches some of the shows so she recognized some of the people. My mom didn’t watch the movie with us- she’s not much of a horror movie fan- but even she was kind of hooked at the end of the movie. A lot happened!!!

I liked the single location (for the most part at least) of the movie… and i think the low budget of this movie and the small cast made it really creepy and effective. I just really thought this was a fun movie to watch. I know all the movies aren’t that good… but this one was so good and I just didn’t expect it at all.

Alright- that’s all I have to say about this. It’s just… really a fun movie to watch!
