My Thoughts on White Lotus Season 3

Okay- so this year’s White Lotus had some of my favorite characters and a lot of really great actors in it… plus we had some exciting returning characters like Belinda and Greg/Gary… I really liked this season, I really liked the ending even though I don’t think it was perfect… but here’s what I thought overall about everything. Spoilers coming right away- stop reading if you haven’t watched the season or the finale yet and don’t want to be Spoiled.

Rick and Chelsea

Okay so this season we had Angry, moody Rick and sweet sweet Chelsea by his side… and I had a feeling before this started yesterday that Rick was going to be one of the victims of The White Lotus for sure. I’m not really sure why, I feel like Rick was so angry this year… but also why cast Walton Goggins if you’re not going to give him a gun? And I’m not that familiar with his previous works- but I could see Goggins becoming a Sean Bean type. Plus he was definitely the angriest in the bunch.

Chelsea was by far the sweetest character though- which made her being with Rick in general so heartbreaking because she just wanted to love him and he was too focused on the past to see what a beautiful life he had now with this woman that just loves him… and he could have had a future with her. Ugh this was the saddest white lotus death ever I think… and it really showed how bleak the ending of this season was.

The Ratcliffe Family

So I liked the ending with them where they’ll end up being just fine as long as their together… but I think they should have killed off Lochlan. That would have been even sadder than Chelsea’s death and it just kind of became a little cheesy. Also the fact that Timothy almost killed his entire family and none of them will ever know- plus they won’t know that he nearly poisoned Lochlan either… I’m not sure that I would feel comforted by the fact that they’ll be getting through it as a family because he almost

Killed all of them! I guess im glad they all made it and they seem to be doing better… but this one could have ended better.

Jaclyn Lemmon Girl’s Trip

Okay so Laurie’s quote was really one of the best moments of the show. This started out as such a toxic friendship girl group… but at the end of the day this story had the only real happy ending and it was very beautiful. Laurie said she’s greatful to just be at the table with her friends and that they’ve all been friends for so long. She’s happy both ladies have a beautiful life and she’s just happy to be there with them and enjoy the ride. I just watched the first part of her speech again a few minutes ago and that was a deeper part of the show than I was expecting from the girls group.

I’m also very sad that Sritala and her husband were so excited to get the picture with Jaclyn and Jaclyn was excited too. You could tell she really admired Sritala and she was excited for it and then Rick kills Sritala’s husband who was Rick’s actual father the whole time… so it was just a lot.

Gaitok

So Gaitok was not at his post most of the show… he also kills Rick which is against his belief system… he gets the girl he loves- but Mook isn’t going to be as into him as he is into her… and he ends up being Sritala’s security guard by the looks of it… I guess Gaitok ends up having things the best- but the guys he caught robbing the jewelery store got away with it and he didn’t stop them… and he killed someone.

Belinda

Belinda got the money she wanted… but it doesn’t seem like she’s going to start the business she wanted, she sold out Tonya… and she’s not with her guy anymore… so im not sure how I feel about her ending… but I don’t think it’s the last we’ll see of Belinda.

Gary+ Chloe

So I feel a little sad for Chloe because Chelsea died and she might not even know about it… plus she’s still with Gary and has no idea what he’s done either. And I think they’ll both be back but I’m not sure how much fun Chloe will be without Chelsea or the Ratcliffe brothers.

So those are my thoughts this year. I liked this season more than last season… but I didn’t like the end quite as much as the end of the first season. I didn’t like that we had multiple character deaths and that they were all in the same family I guess but… they could have gone further with it. There’s more they could do for sure.
