My Covid 19 Vaccine Experience.

Alright so I've been fully vaccinated for over a month now I think... so I figured now would be a good time to talk about my experience. I believe I talked about it briefly in another post- but I thought I'd do a whole post on it now.

So I had gotten mine pretty early- but I knew a lot of people that had the Vaccine already so I kind of knew what to expect. That being said- the people in my life had pretty different reactions to their vaccines. Some people I know were really tired after, and some had no reaction at all. One of my relatives got sicker than they had been in a while from the second shot and I was afraid of that It's really hard to say what will effect who in what way... which seems complicated but this is a new virus, it's a new vaccine and... everyone's experience is pretty new and different I guess.

After the first shot- my arm really hurt that whole week. Like it really REALLY hurt. I wasn't itchy- it was just hard to sleep on- and I got it in my left arm which is usually the arm I sleep on... so it was a good thing I was really tired from the vaccine that week because otherwise sleeping on my other side might be hard.

So aside from being tired and my arm hurting- nothing bad happened after the first shot. It was all good.

The second shot- was harder. I felt fine right after- I went shopping and my mom and I went out for breakfast... and then I went home and took a nap. I had a bit of a headache that turned into a very big headache and then I had some chills. And that kind of went on till the next day also... So I called out of work. I knew I wouldn't be able to do very much with the chills and the acheyness.

The next day I had a bit of a headache- but I thought I was okay to work... mostly because I knew most of my work wouldn't really be out on the floor helping the customers- I was hanging up stuff for my section of the store... so that was easy enough... and after my lunch break I felt 100% almost... that day was also apparently my time of the month... which I did not realize!

I know some women have had different experiences with their periods after they get the vaccine- idk if I can say for sure yet. I felt like mine lasted a bit longer than usual last month- but only by a few days or so which isn't really uncommon for me. And right after I can't really remember. I feel like it was lighter- aside from that first day.

So... in a nutshell that's everything I think I needed to say. I had the pfizer vaccine if anyone was curious and I have not gotten Covid 19 before or since the vaccination. I do still wear my mask indoors for the most part... it's not a requirement to wear one in my state any more... but I would rather be safe and ease into not wearing a mask- and I am still required to wear one to work... which I think is safe. I'd also like to keep a mask on hand in the future just in case. There are so many times when we have bad flu seasons and I don't like to go out then... so in times like those I'd rather have a mask handy just in case. I haven't been sick since 2019...and I feel like the fact that I wear a mask has a lot to do with that. No one can cough or sneeze on you or on surfaces if they have a mask on- plus you aren't touching your face when you wear a mask so... I feel like that helps too. Overall if you're fully vaccinated I know it's probably not unsafe to go out without a mask... but at the same time I'm not bothered by the mask and I feel like there are real benefits to it. I don't get sick often to begin with- but usually like once a year or so I will... and I haven't been lately so... that's something I feel good about.

Anyway with all that being said- I'm not a doctor and have absolutely no knowledge of medicine- so please don't take this as such. This is just my experience along with some experience of other people I know- and I thought it'd be helpful to share- especially now that states are easing regulations and we are getting more back to normal.

Stay safe, healthy and classy.

Bye!

-Shannon
