Movie Monday: The Movies I Didn’t See in Theaters
So I've been talking a lot about movies and right now I'm keeping track of the top 5 movies at the box office for the year so far... and I thought- hey... let's talk about some of the movies that I've seen that I didn't see in theaters- or some that I didn't see in theaters that I maybe wanted to. We're going to talk about it!
Let's start in January! The movie that I wanted to see but wasn't sure if I wanted to see it in theaters was Missing. January was kind of a busy month for me- I saw a concert in January, I had my nieces birthday party... there was a lot going on- so Missing just wasn't at the top of my priority list. I actually did see this movie on Netflix when I was in Boston- and I really liked it! It was suspenseful and the characters were interesting and it was just really good! This is also a spin-off of the movie Searching- which I did see in theaters and I didn't really like it that much. So maybe these types of movies are better for streaming.
A man called Otto came out then too- I hadn't read the book so I didn't want to see the movie but I do kind of want to read the book... I still don't know if I want to see the movie though... I've heard nothing about it.
Next up in February 80 for Brady and Magic Mike came out. I'm not the demographic for 80 for Brady- but it is on streaming so I might watch it just cause I love Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Magic Mike- I've never seen any of the movies before but... Channing Tatum... I think I'll like this one.
Cocaine Bear I didn't see in theaters- I did see it on streaming and honestly I didn't like it. It was overhyped and not really that funny...idk it was a bit boring.
I didn't see Creed 3 in theaters- I wanted to but we just didn't really have time. There were other things my boyfriend and I did besides seeing that in theaters. I did watch it- I bougt it right when it came out and I really liked it.
65 I had no interest in seeing and I didn't see it.
Shazam Fury of The Gods I still haven't seen. I was so excited for Shazam 2 after seeing the first Shazam- but I didn't really like the commercials for this. It didn't seem that exciting. I do like the director- he has a YouTube channel also that's really good. This also came out on my boyfriends birthday weekend and this just wasn't what we wanted to see for his birthday!
Air- no interest in seeing. Especially after we tried to watch the Tetris movie and we didn't like it.
The Pope's Exorcist- amc was really really trying to sell me on. I don't think I like exorcism movies after seeing Evil Dead Rise- which is my next movie on this list! I wanted to see Evil Dead rise because the trailers looked really good. I actually did see some of the earlier Evil Dead movies before Evil Dead Rise was on streaming... so I was excited when Rise came to streaming but... I didn't like it! I'm glad I didn't see it in theaters and I'm glad I didn't buy it cause I just didn't really like it much. It's just an exorcism movie and I didn't really care about the characters.
One movie that came out around that time that I wanted to see was Beau is Afraid which is directed by Ari Aster. That's a long movie and they just didn't have any good showtimes to see this in theaters for me. I think I would have fallen asleep or something.
I did not see Are You There God, It's Me Margaret or Mafia Mama in theaters- but I did buy both of the DVDs of these and I'm excited to watch these two. Haven't seen them yet- but I'll watch them!
Fast X looks good but I haven't seen all the fast and furious movies. And when I say "it looks good" I don't know if I mean that. I wasn't that interested in fast x lol.
Transformers I really wanted to see because I have a crush on Anthony Ramos and this one looked fun! I'm not a big transformers fan- but Bumblebee was great and I think this one looks like the series is getting on track. I did find out the ending and I'll probably watch this on streaming hopefully.
The flash I wasn't really that excited about. Ezra Miller isn't someone I want to support. Plus this will 100% be on streaming.
No Hard Feelings I think looks really funny and I'm happy the raunchy comedy is back. Joy Ride I really wanted to see in theaters- but there's so much out around this time... I think they might both be in theaters still but I'll probably wait till they're on dvd or streaming. I think I'll buy Joy Ride right when it comes out.
I haven't seen any of the Insidious Movies- so I have seen that. I might watch them some day but it's not something I'm that excited for.
And those are all the movies I'm going to talk about that I haven't seen in theaters and why/ if I want to see them.
Bye!

Also let me know if you want me to talk more about the top 5 charts because I do find it interesting and I'm going to keep keeping track of them.
Bye!
