Movie Monday: The Lighthouse
Alright... this is going to be a very review-y week cause today I have this movie Monday on The Lighthouse which I watched in February I think so... I don't really have the freshest take on it but it's a movie that sticks with you so... yeah. I also think I'm going to have a review on Lucy Foley's Book The Hunting Party- which I'm still kind of thinking my thoughts on... and I'll have a review on my guilty Pleasure: the HBO+ show Genera+ion... and my review on From Under The Cork Tree... so be prepared.
ANYWAY this movie is one I've wanted to see for a long time- but I also wasn't sure I'd like and wasn't sure it would be what I wanted to watch any time... but it is actually a fantastic movie and Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson are just GREAT together in this. Plus the story itself is just really creepy and kind of cool.
It's really only the two of them through the whole movie too... so you can really see how good both of them really are. And they seemed really into their characters- so I felt like you get a lot of good character development without too much backstory or even any long scenes or anything... it's just them having conversations and... it's just really good.
The movie is also a horror movie... but I feel like anyone could enjoy it because it isn't really "scary" scary. There's a little bit of gore towards the end of the movie... but I don't think there's much else throughout the movie other than some suspense you get from the two characters.
Plus... it's somewhat relatable. Willem Dafoe is very very bossy- but he's kind of the one that declared himself the boss... and Robert Pattinson is very annoyed by this because he isn't a very good boss- he's just very bossy. It's kind of funny in that aspect and it's just an interesting movie.
I hope you guys like this post and hopefully you like this movie. Overall I'd definitely recommend it!
Bye!
