Movie Monday: My Niece chooses my Netflix Watches
So my niece who is a kid came over a few days ago and she wanted to watch a Netflix movie, and then she asked to watch another one. I had only seen half of the one movie and I didn’t see the second one. But anyway I really liked them! Here’s what I thought.
So the first movie she wanted to watch was Chupa which she said “the movie Aspen put on when I was 6” which was like a year ago lol… so I wasn’t sure what she meant but then she said “you know the one about the lion that can fly.”
It’s a movie called Chupa- which is about El Chupacabra and its mostly in English but there’s a lot of Spanish in it and they have subtitles for the Spanish- and I think she wanted to watch it now because she’s getting good at reading and I think she likes to read when she can- but she’s a little shy about it.
Anyway this movie doesn’t really have the Chupacabra doing many chupacabra things. He doesn’t really do anything to help the family that much either. It’s cute but… there could have been something a little more heartwarming in it. It seemed like the grandpa was maybe too old and forgetful to take care of the kids by himself too- but he does. I still like this movie- it’s good if you’re trying to learn Spanish and I think my niece liked reading the subtitles. Not that much happens but it’s still a good movie that I’d recommend.
Next up: we watched Leo which I ended up LOVING! Omg there were parts of this that felt like it was supposed to be a comedy for adults, but it was still for kids and it had good messages in it for kids AND for older people. My niece apparently cried the first time she saw this and I thought it was going to have a sad ending- but it didn’t. It had a really happy ending and I think this is an important movie for kids to watch. It’s about kids that are in 5th grade before they go to middle school… but it was really good. I will definitely watch this again.
Also it did feel like an Adam Sandler movie. I don’t like every Adam Sandler movie- but he’s really funny in almost everything and he’s a good actor and voice actor. This is definitely a must watch for fans of Adam Sandler. And I’d say most of his movies are worth giving a chance to.
Okay that’s everything! I hope you guys like this post!
Bye!
