Movie Monday: Movies that Surprised Me- Good and Bad

Alright my boyfriend and I watch TONS of movies. These are the movies we've watched from the comfort of our own homes and these are what kind of surprised us... good and bad.

I'm going to start with one that I thought was better than I expected it to be... but I still finished the movie thinking "that was pointless." And that is The Flash this probably isn't a movie I'll watch again because of Ezra Miller... but if Ezra Miller wasn't a terrible person- I would say they didn't do a bad job as the Flash. Both Barry's felt very different- young Barry I really liked. I don't think Ezra Miller was the bad part of the movie- but they are the reason I won't be watching it again or owning the movie. I feel like the ending of this movie just... got boring. It got really boring towards the end and I don't really understand the plot. It seems like the creators of this didn't think much about time travel paradoxes and... some of this didn't make sense to me because it contradicted itself. I enjoyed parts of this movie- I don't think my boyfriend liked it very much.

One we didn't really like was the new Transformers movie. My boyfriend I think is familiar with the toys and the old cartoon, I watched the first two movies but I don't remember much. We both saw Bumblebee and we liked it. This one just wasn't great. I have a crush on Anthony Ramos... but i don't think he did a great job in this movie. It was okay but it didn't have a lot going on... and i couldn't get into it that much.

A series Aspen and I were pleasantly surprised by... the new Planet of The Apes movies! We kind of watched the first one on a whim, we liked it enough to watch the second one- which was the weakest of

the three movies... but it set the third movie into place and the third movie was awesome. We actually bought that one because we couldn't find it streaming. You don't really need to watch all 3 if you don't want to... I'd say if you're going to watch one- watch the third... but the first is good too.

Another one we liked a lot: Missing! We didn't really like Searching- but it was the Third movie we saw in theaters together so we had to see the spin-off and... we did like it! It had more twists and wasn't as predictable as Searching.

The one we started watching but didn't finish yet... but it's not because we didn't enjoy it was SLC Punk. This is a slice of life movie about a very specific thing. 80s punks from Salt Lake City. While I kind of think there's a LOT you can explore about just the punk movement and this doesn't really go there... it's still a fun movie to watch. There isn't much of a plot to it... but the cast is actually really great. Matthew Lillard stars in this and he's actually great. My boyfriend found this in a thrift store and... we were surprised. It's not bad.

One that we couldn't finish watching because we just didn't like it: Tetris. I can't tell you how excited we were for this movie... and it was just bad. It was a while ago... we just stopped watching it cause we couldn't. I don't even remember why we disliked it.

We watched Tammy and the T Rex which is on peacock and... that was actually so bad it was good. This was a really fun movie to watch. It's by the director of Mac and Me and it stars a young Denise Richards and Paul Walker... its just a fun movie.

And one that was bad and we weren't surprised was bad... sorry Kevin Smith- Yoga Hosers. I think this might be the worst movie we've ever seen. I kind of liked the plot to an extent too... but they did a lot in this movie and... it was just too much. The Canadian accents were too over the top... the monsters of this movie were tiny sausage sized World War II bad guys... I think this would have been a good concept

If Mel Brooks made this... but it just didn't work. And we kind of knew this wouldn't be good but... it was so bad. We are fans of Kevin Smith- and we've seen him before... but yeah. This wasn't great.
