Okay this was my most anticipated movie of the year probably. I think Bong Joon Ho is my favorite director, Robert Pattinson is one of my favorite actors… it’s a good book… it just makes sense to be excited for this movie.
So when the movie first started… I didn’t really like it as much as I was hoping. I ended up actually really loving the movie but when it started it was a little slow… and I didn’t really like the accent that Robert Pattinson was using for Mickey 17. I don’t think he was trying to- but it felt a little bit like The Good Doctor… which just made it a little distracting but once the movie started picking up it got a little bit better.
I really liked the character of Mickey 18 and I kind of thought that he made the movie. The dynamic between the two Mickeys and all of the other characters is just really good. It’s kind of amazing that it’s the same actor playing both Mickey’s.
There are a lot of good characters in this movie too. Mark Ruffalo plays a very familiar seeming man in power… I think Mark Ruffalo is not a fan of the type of person he is portraying… so I thought his performance was pretty funny. Toni Collette played his wife… who was sort of a Gweneth Paltrow or Hillary Clinton type… which was just clever and ironic compared to Mark Ruffalo’s character. They both did a great job.
There are a lot of even more minor characters in this too that are just really great. There’s a doctor that helps Mickey whenever he’s reprinted. There’s Timo- who is someone Mickey knew before he boarded the ship and became an expendable. There are a lot of great characters all throughout the movie that make the movie even better.
And the ending of the movie was really good too. There were a lot of little storylines in the movie that just kind of wrapped up really nicely.
Alright now for my ranking!!!
Over All I would give the movie a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5 stars. If I see it again which I might I might give it a 5 just because now I know what to expect about the beginning but just because of the initial disappointment I had in the movie I can’t give it a 5. It does get a perfect 30 for the rest of the score though.
Gets feelings of genre- 5
Cast- 5
How did it look- 5
Press- 5
Music- 5
Character development/ Writing- 5
Total: 30 out of 30
Bye!
