Movie Monday: How Scary are the Ghostface Killers in Scream?
Okay- so I just saw a TikToker by the name of Jake Lubb rank the Ghostface Killers based on how scary they were so I thought- hey, let's talk about that!
Also he just lumped them all together by movie... im going to do that too just because I think most of them are equal and I think if I separated them it would just be who's my favorite Ghostface- and im pretty sure I've done that before.
6) Scream 3- Roman Bridger
This one is obviously the least scary. Scream 3 is more of a comedy than the other movies and Roman Bridger does have a little bit of a redemption at the end so you do feel bad for him when Sydney holds his hand- it's touching. Although I think sometimes that makes a movie scarier- like in Saw 3 and Saw 10... this one didn't really do that for me.
5) Scream 5 - Amber and Ritchie
Although Scream 5 had some brutal kills and does have scary Ghostface killers- I just find them a little less scary than the other movies. I think they could have played it up and made it scarier- I would have loved to see Ritchie and Amber as a crazier couple- for some reason I'm picturing the couple in Pulp Fiction. It just seemed like he was a film bro that met a horror freak online and they just started killing people to make a crappy movie- which is scary... but there's a lot more scary Ghostface killers on this list.
4) Scream 2 - Mickey and Mrs. Loomis
Mickey's whole personality was just crazy and it was a really good reveal that Sydney knew this woman that had been there the whole movie- but they never met so she couldn't have known she was Ghostface. Scream 2 is a great movie I just don't know if I think they have the best kills of any Ghostface. And knowing Mickey did pretty much all the kills is scary- but I do think there are some scarier ones.
3) Scream 4- Jill and Charlie
Jill is crazy... Charlie did most of the work and the kills are brutal but... the reveal of Jill's plan and her motive was just kind of chilling.
2) Scream 6- Quinn, Ethan and Detective Bailey
Okay this one was maybe the actual scariest but the reveal I think was the least surprising which makes it a bit lower than Billy and Stu in Scream 1 for me. This was probably the scariest movie of the franchise- but the least suspenseful in finding who the killers were. I like Chad and Mindy- but Mindy's attention to detail and her obsession with movies almost made her too strong of a hero in this one.
1)Scream- Billy Loomis and Stu Macher
This one might always be the scariest for me partially because it's the first one... but also knowing the killer is someone you know- knowing the motive behind Killing Casey was because she sits next to Sydney in English Class... there were a lot of details that made this one the scariest for me. It was a good reveal- and even if it wasn't a super surprising reveal- it was still really scary.
So that is everything! I hope you guys like this ranking- I'll try to do some more because I love ranking things!
