Movie Monday: 2 Movie Preorders, 1 Purchase Regret+ One I Might Buy!
Okay so I've got an odd post today I think. I'm going to start writing about movies every Monday because Marvel Monday is just too hard to keep up with... but with Movie Monday- I pretty much do watch a movie every week- and even if I don't I have something to say about movies every week. So- that's what this will be. Also I'm probably posting this after midnight on Monday- but I have a good excuse... I was doing Nothing All Day.
So yeah- anyway lets talk about the two movies I just preordered from Target and why exactly I preordered them. I don't always preorder things- its usually only movies that I really really like or really really want to see... and one of these movies I haven't even seen yet! So I'm excited.
First off of corse I preordered M3gan. I loved this movie and I'm very excited to see the unrated cut. I had seen a review of it on facebook and I didn't even read the review.I was just like "Yes I want to own this and I need to purchase it now!" And I'm pretty sure I'll watch it right away. I'll probably even post a Movie Monday on that or... a few cause there was a lot I thought about when I first watched the movie that I would like to elaborate on further and watch again.
The other movie I pre ordered was The Whale- which I preordered on DVD. I really wanted to see this movie because I love Brendan Fraser- I'm in the Brendan Fraser fan group on facebook and I would love to know if he should really win the Oscar over Austin Butler's amazing performance in Elvis... I think he will and I'm sure I'll agree about it. I slightly regret ordering the DVD and not the Blu ray because it is an A24 movie and those movies do look really nice on Blu Ray... but I don't think I'll need to watch The Whale in the best of quality... and I do want to focus on the performance so the DVDwill work fine. It was only $13 at Target so I got it cause it was cheap. I think I'll probably be getting it after the Oscar's unfortunately I think that's when the movie is being released... but still. I'll know for sure.
The reason I wasn't quite sure about owning The Whale was that I did buy another movie that has been critically acclaimed and Oscar nominated that I thought I would love... and the more I think about it the more I really really don't like it... and that is Tar. Tar is just a weirdly paced movie and honestly... Cate Blanchett is a great actress but no. I just felt like we found out that Lydia was a bad person too late in the movie to actually really feel connected with. I just... didn't like it at all really. It's such a pain to watch and I just couldn't really get into it. If you know the music world- you'll probably like the movie. I just didn't like the character and it is ALL about the one character. Also like halfway through the movie I told my boyfriend "I don't think the movie started yet." If you're looking for a similar movie that is easier to watch and all together better in my opinion: whiplash is a great movie and I would recommend that!
The movie I'm not so sure about: Violent Night... I watched this movie and I loved it... but I specifically watched I t on Peacock because I didn't think I would want to own it... BUT now that it is out I kind of do want to own it... I'd watch it again. But I also don't want my niece to see it and have it be a scary moment about Santa Clause.
Another should I buy: Elvis. I think I will buy that but I just watched it so I'm not going to watch it again right now. So-yeah this is something I'm thinking about- but I won't buy it just yet.
Alright this has been movie Monday. Heartbreak feels good in a place like this!
Goodbye!
