Mindf*ck Series by ST Abby book review
Okay… this book… really got me back into reading because… it’s such an easy read and it’s so twisty and the characters are so good... check trigger warnings before picking up this book… but honestly I loved these characters and it was exactly the type of book I was looking to read.
Synopsis
Lana Myers meets Special Agent Logan Bennet at a bar when she profiles him and his friend, and he’s impressed that she can profile so well because he is an FBI Agent… she claims that she profiles because she runs an online store and often has to travel and meet with people that are kind of... shady so she profiles in order to protect herself.
Logan profiles for the FBI and one of his cases involves a serial killer that is killing seemingly random men, torturing them for days and cutting off their... things… and nailing it to a wall. And we find out that this killer is none other than his girlfriend Lana Myers- who is killing out of revenge for horrible awful things that the entire town she lived in did to her family.
The Books
So this is like a Dark Romance novel I would say… but it’s more of a thriller than a romance. It’s very suspenseful and the last book ends with… a VERY INTENSE fight scene that is one of the most exciting things I’ve ever read in a book.
There are some rather spicy scenes… I would say there’s at least one in each book. It isn’t the spiciest book I’ve ever read… but the scenes are pretty descriptive and … it’s something that might make you blush lol.
This is a series- so it’s 5 separate books- but if you buy a physical copy- it’s all 5 books together in one book. They’re each under 200 pages- so I was able to read one book a day between work and going out with my boyfriend and everything. I would give all of them 5 stars except for the second book- which was a little less interesting because Lana was stuck at home most of the time- so that I’d just give 4 stars too. The last 3 books were really the absolute best in the series. The last book just ends so so well… it’s really great.
All of the main characters are really good- the side characters are really good… And it keeps you guessing till the end... sometimes It makes me frustrated but mostly… it’s a great love story- but also with a stabby twist.
Lana Myers is one of my favorite characters and I keep thinking about this series even though I’ve read some other books since then. It’s really really good.
I also read this while I was watching all of the Saw Movies and it goes pretty well with that. Also the new Batman movie made me think of this book… it’s just very good. I would definitely reread it again... it’s a fun one.
