Mid Year Freakout Tag (books)

Alright I saw Read With Cindy do this tag and I saw another person on TikTok do it… so I’m going to do it myself too. All the answers for the good ones are Beach Read.

1) How Many books have you read in 2022?

I‘ve read 24 books so far this year. Some of those were graphic novels and stuff but… yep 24 still counts!

2) What has been your favorite read of 2022?

Beach Read by Emily Henry! I loved this book it was just perfect! I love Gus and January and… it was just funny and had good themes and overall just a great book.

3) What has been your favorite sequel this year?

The last book of the Mindf*ck series. That whole series is amazing… but that last book was probably the best. Major trigger warnings for the book but… it ended so well!

4) What is a new release you haven‘t read yet?

A lot! I’m going to mention The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley and all my book of the month books cause I haven’t read any of them yet and I should probably cancel… but I won’t.

5) What was the biggest dissapointment of the year?

I‘m currently reading Red, White, and Royal Blue and I just… don’t love it. It’s very overhyped I’m not really seeing the chemistry between the two… and it’s just not what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a sweet book but so far it’s just the presidents son hooking up with the Prince of England. And it’s okay if you think of the book more from a found family aspect… but as a romance it’s not working as well for me.

6) Most Anticipated Release? I’m really excited for Aiden Thomas’s book The Sun Bearer Trials I think it’s Called… really loved cemetery boys and I‘m excited for something new.

7) Favorite New Authors?

Emily Henry I’ve read multiple books from this year and I love her writing style. Also I read 2 Colleen Hoover books and I really like the Sophie Lark book I read. All really good!

8) Newest Fictional Crush?

Gus Everett from Beach Read… and I love Cal from Brutal Prince and I didn’t think I was going to. Also this goes without saying but James Bond.

9) Favorite Character This Year?

Gus Everett from Beach Read. James Bond. Yadriel from Cemetery Boys. Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper… fricking Jaxon from Crave. The main character of Nettle and Bone and of corse… Lana Meyers from Mindf*ck. Such a badass lady!

10) What Book Made You Cry/ Emotional?

Book Lovers I actually had to put down a few times because I feel like I can relate to Nora’s love of control and it seems like she has some OCD and I think I have some OCD.

11) What Book Made You Happy?

Cemetery Boys!!!! It just gave me a warm fuzzy feeling and I kept smiling!

12) The Most Beautiful Cover you bought this year? obviously Daughter of The Moon Goddess is incredibly Beautiful but I also just got The Embroidered Book which is about Marie Antoinette and her sister being witches… it sounds really interesting and the book is quite pretty!
