May Diaries 5: TikTok controversy that seems like nothing
So I don’t know this whole situation at all… I didn’t really follow it until after and this is an actual person online that seems to be getting a lot of hate and… I don’t really get it.
There was a TikToker that was posting saying that she was a plain person- which means she’s Amish or Mennonite and in those cultures they aren’t allowed to use phones and electricity so… obviously people were confused and this girl got “exposed” for not being Amish… and I just have to ask… why did anyone think she was Amish to begin with if she’s on TikTok? This one just made me face palm a bit.
So yeah- the girls “exposing” her just seem really mean. And they’re like “okay my Cousin’s best friend’s hair dresser told her that this girl wasn’t Amish.” So… yeah. They just seem like mean girls.
I also kind of miss the early days of the internet where we got things like Lonelygirl15 or whatever who you couldn’t really tell whether it was fake but then it was revealed and that was a whole thing. People should just be allowed to act online if they want.
Also Abraham Lincoln once said “don’t believe everything you read online.” So yeah.
See ya later!
