May Diaries 25: The Chronicles of Pat The Dog on Friends

So I’ve been watching Friends lately and one of my favorite parts of the set is Joey and Chandlers Porcelin Dog that we find out Joey named Pat.

So Joey buys Pat when he moves into his apartment by himself after first getting the job on Days of Our Lives. He spends thousands of dollars on porcelain animals on his credit cards and he can’t pay off the cards and he gets fired so they get repossessed I think. And Ross wants to buy him something- so he got him the dog statue.

Joey admits he doesn’t really like the dog statue but he brings it to the apartment with Chandler anyway. And Chandler doesn’t like it at first- but I think the guys end up liking it. They decorate him for Christmas, they draw a smile on him and move them into the girls apartment in The One With The Embryos. Heck- he doesn’t even get stolen when the guys apartment gets robbed.

When Chandler moves in with Monica- Joey gives Chandler the dog and Monica hates it. When Chandler and Monica move out in the last episode Monica gives the movers some money and tells the movers to break it.

And we also see the dog statue in The One That Could Have Been- since in that one Joey never got fired from Days of Our Lives he still lives in the tacky apartment and when Rachel is over he tells Rachel the dogs name is Pat.
