Marvel Monday: Wandavision Finale and Thoughts

Okay... my favorite thing that's maybe ever been on Disney Plus is Wandavision... I have watched it over and over again and... I really liked it. The first 3 episodes were a little slow... but then it picked up and kept picking up... and even though I think a lot of people (including myself) were maybe expecting a little more from the finale then what happened... but I think it's great and its setting up better things to come.

One thing I kind of wish is that they released Falcon and Winter Soldier, then Wandavision than Loki. I think Loki and Wandavision will be more closely connected- whereas I can see Falcon and Winter Soldier maybe being more closely connected with Ms. Marvel or some of the other shows that were announced. With Wanda and Loki both being Nexus Beings, plus Loki and Vision being back from the dead... plus there's a stained glass of Mephisto in the Loki Trailer... it seems like the devil's in the details with them being connected.

Anyway... I kind of liked how the show started slow. It made it a little bit creepier and it showed the actors sort of in all sorts of different lights. Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany did a really good job with Physical Humor and old timey sitcom acting- as well as action stuff and Marvel acting... this was a really good balance between the two.

So what I thought was happening is kind of what happened I guess? I thought Wanda sold her soul to Mephisto in order to have this life with vision and live out her fantasies using old Sitcom formats that she really loved growing up in Sokovia and while she was hiding out with Vision.

And without the Mephisto of it all... that's what happens. Wanda did the thing herself- although she wasn't really sure how she did it or what she was doing. And a lot of the hijinx happened because of Agatha- who wanted to get Wanda's powers/ her children.

The ending was still very exciting even though it wasn't quite as exciting as everyone thought it would be. I feel like everyone thinking that THIS was how they were going to start phase 4 or phase 5... I forget where we're at here- was a little too ambitious for a tv show on a streaming service... and I think our expectations were maybe too high because we haven't had a Marvel Movie in so so long now lol. I can't say it was everything I had hoped for- but it was still really good.

I'm glad that this ended up being our first female led property in the MCU. I know Black Widow technically is- but since that still hasn't been released... this definitely was not a bad start to things. We got to see Wanda on her own as a hero and a villain- we really got to know the extent of her superpowers... plus it was very sweet to see her relationship with Vision and how they kind of grew through all of this. And the Fox/ Marvel easter egg was fun... and Jimmy Wu, Darcy and Monica were a very fun group too.

Okay... I think that is everything I need to say about Wandavision! I loved it and I hope you guys did too!

Bye!

-Shannon
