January 2023 TBR List
Alright guys- last year I read more books than I think I've ever read before- but I still didn't end up getting to my reading goal- which was 60 books- I only ended up reading 33... so this year I'm going to have a different reading goal: I would like to read 100 Pages a day starting... today probably. I don't think I'm going to be too harsh on myself if I don't get to that 100 page goal... if I can read however many pages I can and then maybe read a little more throughout the week- I think that would be good... I'd also like to make sure I'm reading something at least every other day... that way it'll kind of become more of a habit than if I keep missing days. We'll see how this goes maybe halfway through the year!
Okay so the books:
I did really want to read all of the Christmas Books I got... I just don't think its going to happen. Maybe I'll do it for Christmas in July or something but I just did not have time this holiday season to read them all... I was in a slump and I just didn't want to read... but I would like to do a whole post on these books... someday. If you want me to do it in the winter- let me know but... I'm thinking July.
So right now- the first book I've started for the new year is the second book of the Crave series which is Crush by Tracy Wolf. So far: It's okay. I think I like it more than the first Crave book but they REALLY stretch the length of this books out and a lot of the chapters will just be the characters saying something we already know- or saying what they have to do or look for or something. I still like the atmosphere of these books a lot so I think I can finish the series but... they aren't the best written.
So my idea was to read the Crave Series, the Harry Potter Series, and the Percy Jackson series one after another... so Start with Crush, then maybe The Lightning Theif and then The Sorcerer's stone... and then I'll just keep going with that... but I do think I'll take some breaks in between... so I may not finish the whole series this month... I have a feeling I'll take a break.
On New Year's Day my cousins came over and they both raved about these books so much that I knew I had to buy it and I know I'll read it this month: The Clown in a Cornfield books by Adam Cesare. My cousins love horror movies and thrillers and they said these books read just like a slasher movie- which they weren't really sure how that would work... but both of my cousin's said yes... they read just like a slasher... so I'm very excited to read these! My cousin said if she were famous she would recommend these books and that she wants to be famous just to recommend these books... so this is from my cousin and that's a pretty glowing review.
I think I might want to read a Coleen Hoover book this month... I'm not really sure which one I'd like to read though. I like Coleen Hoover books- but I understand why people don't like these books. I might read either Verity or It Starts WIth Us.
And I also might want to read a Rom Com this month or a romance... so it just kind of depends what mood I'm in. If I need something spicy I'll read Sinner by Sierra Simone or the Sophie Lark Brutal Birthright series, if I want a rom com I might go with something from Christina Lauren, and if I want something that might be a little more romantic I may read From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata. I kind of want to read that during the winter because its about ice skating. I also have a friend that is an Ice Skating Coach- so I will probably loan it to her after.
Okay I think that is probably a good idea of what I'll maybe read this month. Let me know your thoughts and opinions on it if you have any!
Bye!
-Shannon
