I’m sick… but I’m feeling a bit better- let’s see how much I can read
Alright so I’ve been sick the past 3 days and I’m feeling a little bit better today- I don’t have a headache or anything so… let’s see if I can catch up on some reading.
Also: Not Covid- took 2 tests not even really covid symptoms… but man that was the most sick I’ve been in a very long time... it was bad! But I’m better now- I’m going back to work tomorrow- things are normal again and… yeah. I’m still not feeling super strong or anything, won‘t be doing any announcements at work or anything but I feel a lot better. And by “tomorrow” I mean tomorrow from when I’m writing this lol 😂
I have 3 books I’ve started already… and I’m hoping I can finish at least 2 by the end of the month. I have Addicted To You from the Addicted series that I think I only have a chapter or 2 left. I have The Hating Game- which I was reading on my lunch breaks at work… so I’m a few chapters in. And I have Cemetery Boys- which I tried reading at work but it wasn’t as easy…
So I’m going to start with Addicted To You because I’ve been reading that already and its kind of hard to get through while sick… but I also feel like I can relate to it more because I’m sick.
Addicted To You by Krista and Becca Richie… Spoilers
Synopsis of the book so far:
Okay- so this is the first book in the Addicted and Calloway Sisters series- which I believe is 10 books long and you read them intertwined. The first book is a fake dating story between Loren Hale- a wealthy alcoholic and Lily Calloway- a wealthy sex addict. They decide to finally get together after 3 years of fake dating and living together and then they’re forced to confront their addictions together- which they may not be ready for.
Chapter 30
Okay so I ended at the part where Lily told Rose about her addiction and Lo’s addiction and it was really powerful to hear Rose not judging Lily.
Okay- so I just finished the book and I really liked it. It ended well- both Lo and Lily are trying to actually get help… even though they need to be apart from each other to do so. There was a nice reveal- some good family moments with Lily and Rose and Lo and his family. It was all really good!
I think I’d give it a 4.5/5 stars. I have a feeling the series as a whole will be better than this book in particular- but this was really entertaining and I like it a lot!
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
Okay next up is The Hating Game- which I feel like I could read in one sitting if I wasn’t sick… so maybe I can still get a big chunk of it read today… but yeah this is great so far! Time to talk some more about it!
100 pages in…
I‘ve been reading this on and off all day and I’m hoping To get at least halfway through it tonight. I really like it so far. The relationship between Joshua and Lucy is really cute. I feel like the sort of steamy scenes so far have been good. It’s just like making out scenes but it’s forbidden love it’s office- maybe it’s just because I’ve been sick and I’m romanticizing things- but it was hot lol.
Okay… I ended up getting to the part where Lucy got sick and Joshua said he’d stay with her. I think that’s all I’m going to read for now in this post because… it seems fitting. I’m sick and feeling better so I’ll end on her being sick and him helping her… which is sweet. I actually loved the scene in People We Meet on Vacation where Poppy got sick… so I think that’s pretty adorable. And I’m excited to see where it goes from there! I think I’ll pick it back up now… and I’ll write some more about it later!
Bye!
