I Love My Dad Review
Okay, so this movie based on a true story starring Patton Oswalt seems like it should be the cringeiest comedy of all time... but is it any good?
So this movie is written, directed and starring a man that was catfished by his own dad. In the movie, the son and father had just kind of lost touch. The dad wasn't really there for the son a lot and the son blocked him. So what does he do? Disguises himself as a pretty girl and his son ends up falling in love with the girl- Plus he reconnects with his dad to try to visit the girl in real life.
So this wasn't as cringey as the trailer looked. The dad was manipulative- but you could tell he really cared about his son and wanted to reconnect. Although he did go a little too far and in general should not have catfished the son... you could kind of see why he did it. He wanted to be a part of his kids life, and his kid wanted him in his life.
So overall I liked the movie, I don't think it's a must watch- but if you were intrigued by the premise- I don't think you'll be disappointed in it.
Bye!
