How I’ve been planning my blogs April 2023
Okay so this is subject to change- I kind of change things all the time- but this is what's been easy for me.
Lately I've been posting 2 blogs a day- one quick review and one longer blog post.
The Notes App
So this isn't really revolutionary but I write all my ideas down on the Notes App on my iPhone and I use it as a check list and I cross it out after it's posted. I'll write the date too just so I know when. This is really helpful for my reviews because I can kind of write a bunch of reviews at once and then put a date on them later on whenever I need to schedule them. This is the easiest thing I do as far as planning goes... but I do some other things too.
On my iPad
This one is harder to explain- but I basically use the Storyboard part on the Penultimate app- with my Apple Pencil and I'll write down what I post for my review- what I post for my blog, and like the time I go to work so that I have an idea of when I'll be able to post for Instagram. I also do write down "instagram" and I am planning to write what I post there and when. This isn't really something I do every day... I should do it once a week but I don't really think I've been keeping up with it as much.
I also usually like to put down what I actually post. Like did I post a picture relating to the thing I post about or did i just pick a random image- when did I post it and what Instagram did I post it on.
Social Media Planner
I haven't used this in a bit- but I do have an undated planner that I like to use for social media specifically. Like did I post something to Instagram- and my Facebook is personal so I don't really need to post it there but usually my instagrams go directly to my Facebook anyway- so I could always link it underneath or they could check out my bio if they want. It's just my friends so they can just figure it out if they're interested or ask me. They don't have to read it!
But yeah I should use that more because I think I'll use my Instagram more if I do that. Maybe.
Specific Blogs
So for specific blogs it just kind of depends on what it is and what I can do. I like using my Letterboxed account on my phone to review movies like right when I see them and to keep track of the movies I see. I also have been writing down with a notebook and pen every single movie from the 2000s, and I'm posting those lists down and I'll have a post on 2000s movies- plus it gave me ideas for some other movie mondays so it's all good. And I'm posting the actual list for my review blog of the day too... so that's good.
On my actual planner
I do have a list in my actual daily planner that I use- but I don't always follow that list exactly. I try to write it in pencil so I can erase it if I change my mind about a post... lately the notes app has been a little easier.
Having Structured Days- but not too structured
This helps me plan a lot. I like having specific posts I know are happening on specific days- like Friday Favorites, Story Sunday, Movie Monday etc. My Saturday post I might change because I don't think the 5 things and update is helping me accomplish anything. I think it's just making me more anxious to try to get things done... but I might go with some other weekly post for Saturday or Sunday. I don't want to make anything too structured but- a little bit of structure will help.
I have a lot of pens, pencils and highlighters and I like using different colors.
This just kind of helps when I do make a list with pen and paper. I'll do a grid if I need to- but I like writing things and I sort of like adding notes and things to what I write.
Having a Spefic Time To Post
This just also kind of helps my formatting. I post my reviews in the morning and then 10:30 I'll post my regular post... but if I finish early I might just post it whenever I finish so that I can just post the link to instagram... but the times are good to have because I can publish it when I'm not working.
This is everything I can think of... let me know if you want more examples or if this covered it... but I like writing and rewriting lists.
Bye!
