Friday Favorites-3.17.23 + a bit of an Oscar’s Recap

Okay so I think I'll post about The Oscar's here too... I was excited this year! I had seen like 3 movies nominated for best picture and I only really liked one of them! And that's the one that won!

So yeah I guess I'll start with The Oscar's. I don't think the movies nominated were particularly amazing- in fact my favorite movie of the year was Nope and that was snubbed... as were a lot of other movies that were better than Avatar: The Way of The Water- but still. I was excited for all the winners- especially the cast of Everything, Everywhere All At Once. I know a lot of people thought Stephanie Hsu should have won instead of Jamie Lee Curtis- but I love Jamie Lee Curtis in general so I'm happy she won. I didn't watch The Whale yet- I might watch it over the weekend but... I love Brendan Fraser and I'm so happy for him!

The dresses were also beautiful. There were just a few misses- I didn't love Hailee Bailey's... I think I would Have preferred if Melissa McCarthy's was a little less poofy and I did not like Florence Pugh's dress. But other than that the fashion was really good. I think my favorite dress might have been Mindy Kaling... but all the dresses were beautiful.

And no one fought- I liked hearing everyone's speeches. The performances were all amazing- and I would have loved to see Rihanna win- but I think RRR deserved to win for best original song... I just thought it was a good show and fun to watch.

Okay so now onto the favorites I guess!

Crimson Peak

I watched Crimson Peak for the first time this week... and I saw it while the snow was falling... it was so nice. I mean the movie itself is a ghost story with a disturbing twist... but it's good to watch on a snowy day.

Scream 6

I was so excited for this Scream Movie- I might have been more excited than any other movie recently. It was so good too! Definitely better than the last movie and the most suspenseful and brutal of the movies I guess. Maybe since the first movie. Plus it made me really appreciate the new cast. They did a great job.

Daisy Jones and The Six

I've really started liking this show. I wasn't sure about it at first... it seems like all the things they cut were just... kinda lazy. They cut out a whole character... and the band is called The Six so... that's kind of bad. But the music is good and it's kind of just a nice show.
