Friday Favorites 2.24.23

This week was a fun week. I got out of work at 4 pretty much every day- and I didn't have to close on the weekends and my boyfriend and I both had off for Presidents' Day!

I've posted my review of Ant Man already... and I really liked it. The more I think about it the more I'm like "oh that was different than the other ant man movies" and it kind of sets us up for the next Marvel movies really well. The end was kind of haunting and I liked it!

I've been trying to finish all the books I've been reading and the one I've been reading the most so far is Maison Ikkoku by Rumijo Takahashi. This is a cute romantic manga series about a sort of down on his luck guy trying to get into a college and his crush on the new manager of the place he's living at. The new manager has a sad history and the way it unfolds is really interesting. I think the later volumes might be more interesting. I think I will collect this manga because I do really like reading it and I could see myself rereading it... it's kind of expensive though- but it's really good.

Aggretsuko had its final season that just released last week and I finished it over the weekend and I loved it! I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first- but I thought it ended really good and I liked how they concluded everything! Just a great show overall that I think you need to check out if you haven't.

I also really love the new National Treasure show! They just did a really good job with this one- it's a fun show and I like the characters. I like that it connects to the original movies... I just like it a lot overall!

I rewatched the movie Nope also... and I still love that movie! It's a little less scary watching it a second time when you know what's going on... but it's still just such a fun movie.

I'm going to give an update on the show Not Dead Yet too- because this weeks episode was a lot better than the previous ones. The characters were more likable and... it was pretty okay. Not a favorite of the week but it was watchable. The only thing I didn't like was that it referenced a lot of things that it didn't use during the show. Like there's a joke about Billy Joel people and Bruce Springsteen people- and then when they have a song- they play a song by someone completely different. And the main character was wearing a Pink Floyd t-shirt so it was just so random. It would have made more sense if they had played a song from Billy Joel or Bruce Springsteen or if she'd been wearing a shirt from one of them... but I get why she wore the Pink Floyd shirt.

I also love my new brooches from Erstwilder collab. I love dogs so I got a lot of dogs from this collection.

Also going to give a shout-out for something other people in my life are liking: my parents both really liked Yellowstone and they've been watching 1923 lately and they really like it. This is the spin-off or movie or something to do with Yellowstone and it stars Harrison Ford... who is in everything now... but yeah! They like it and I haven't watched it but thought I'd mention people that aren't me's favorites in case you want something else to check out.
