Foodie Tuesday: Mission BBQ
The last meal of Aspen and my trip to PA was Mission BBQ! I still have one review but it’s from a chain that we have near us… and Mission BBQ is a more interesting chain that we don’t have near us.
So Mission BBQ- we didn’t really know anything about when we went there… but when we walked out it was all military themed and some police and firefighter themed… and we were there right before 12… and apparently every day at 12 everyone stands, salutes the flag and they play the National Anthem... and it’s… pretty amazing. It was a bizarre experience- we had no idea why everything was stopping- they had just taken half of our orders... and then said "hold on one minute" and then we just... saluted the flag for the National Anthem. It was something.
Anyway the service there was AMAZING. They're kind of old fashioned the way they call out the orders in a sort of "secret food code" way. Like "ONE FRY DOWN." I think is what they said... idk it was cool. They also show you your orders before you get them- which is great! If anything is wrong- you could just let them know and they'll be able to fix it... its a good way to do things.
I got the Ricky Bobby Chicken... I mostly picked it up because I love the movie Ricky Bobby- but it's also Fried Chicken and I love Fried Chicken. The reason why they call it Ricky Bobby Chicken is because it's shake and bake chicken... and I also love Shake and Bake. So... doubly good!
It was a lot of chicken too! It wasn't that expensive either. I forget what the sauce it came with tasted like- but it was pretty spicy and I ended up liking it a lot! I think I liked the fries a lot too.
My boyfriend I'm pretty sure got the Barbecue Brisket and I think he liked it. It was a little dry but not the driest barbecue you could get. It was pretty nice all in all!
Overall... I'd totally go back there. The Ricky Bobby Chicken isn't something they always have- but it is a good special and I really like it!
Also they have a lot of bottled root beer type drinks- and we got Cheer Wine... which I really liked!
Alright that is everything! Hope you guys like it!
Also… I only took one pick but now that I see it… I want it again!
Bye!
