Foodie Tuesday: Lazy Girl Cold Brew At Home

Okay so I made some Cold brew a few weeks ago and I really really liked it! I also have to say- I had the least amount of stuff for it- I didn't have a coffee filter or a fancy container for it... I just used a measuring cup, an empty Stok Cold Brew Bottle, coffee grounds, a strainer, and water lol. I didn't have any coffee filters- I didn't have a separate container for the cold brew than the bottle I initially used... it wasn't perfect. It was messy- but it tasted delicious.

I'm not sure what blend the coffee was- it was whole bean coffee from Starbucks that my boyfriend got me and ground it up himself. It's a really good blend I should ask him if he knows. But anyway I think the recipe said 2 1/2 cups of the coffee grounds and 4 cups water. I did add some more water to fill up the bottle to dilute it a bit more- so if you have a Stok Coffee Grounds container- you can fill it up. I'm also not sure if these were the exact measurements and I think that was too many coffee grounds.

I steeped mine in the fridge- some people say to steep it on the counter- some people don't taste a difference... personally for me- it tasted good in the fridge and I don't want it taking up counter space- but I had room in the fridge... so that was good.

Now I didn't have a funnel or a coffee filter- this made pouring the coffee grounds really really messy... I would maybe say use less if you're just starting out and have no containers... but it still works if you make a mess. You don't have to throw out the coffee grounds- you can use them in your plants or... do a lot of things with them lol. Look it up.

Ohhh also I used a strainer- just a small one. Just to get the coffee grounds out. I think you should use a coffee filter with this if you have it also... but I didn't. So I just strained out the coffee grounds and poured it into a large measuring cup- and then I poured it back on the same container. This was just the easiest for me to do.

They say steep it for 18-24 hours. I think I did about 20-23 or so. I tried it with some creamer and it was really really good. I mixed it with creamer and syrup and I really liked it! I actually bought a fancy cold brew container with a filter now- so hopefully I can just do it all in one now... and maybe it'll be less messy... I will update you when I'm a pro at it!

Bye!
