Foodie Tuesday: Kura Sushi
Alright starting right back with Foodie Tuesday! I'm not sure if I'll always have this- but I will for this month at least!
I went to the Kura Sushi in Philadelphia a few months ago and I've been back twice since... and I'm not even really a sushi person... but I'm starting to change.
If you don't know Kura is a conveyor belt sushi chain restaurant that has a lot of great options for sushi and non sushi. They also have capsule prizes for when you eat a certain amount of sushi- usually based off of some sort of property like We Bear Bears or Dc currently. I think that depends on the location you go to. They have robots that bring out your drinks and you can order other things besides sushi- or if you don't see what you want on the belt you can order it from the kitchen.
My favorite items were definitely the crunchy rolls, I also liked the seared salmon and any seared beef option they had- and I really like the Kura Roll. I didn't really like the desserts offered on the belt that much and prefer ordering it from their menu. My boyfriend has also tried their miso soup and their ramen and he liked it. It's kind of better to start with something like that because the little plates can really add up so if you fill up on one of the other dishes- you won't grab quite as many of those. I haven't ordered from that menu- I usually just load up on Crunchy Rolls- but I might try one next time I go.
The other thing we like is that the bathrooms have Bidets. The one in Philadelphia didn't work for the women's room- but the one in Edison did... so I got to use that.
Overall this place can be really really pricey... those little plates add up quickly and the one in Edison gives you prizes for the dishes you get and... I'd grab a lot of sushi if I kept getting we bear bears gifts lol. Be prepared to spend some money- but overall it is a really good time.
So that is Kura in a nutshell. I did prefer the Edison location to the Philly location- especially the second time I went a little later in the day at the Philly location and it wasn't quite as fresh... but each time we had a good time and got some good food!
Bye!
