Foodie Tuesday: Founding Farmers Review

Okay- my next food review from my trip to PA... and the best review... FOUNDING FARMERS! This food was just so delicious. The menu was really fun and the service was really great too.

We didn't really know what to expect from the restaurant- so we didn't make reservations or anything... and we ended up sitting at the bar. That was actually really fun though because the bartender was so great. The hostess was really great too... it was just a fun restaurant with some good theming and great food!

Appetizers

So we ordered 2 appetizers and... one was really fun. And everyone was kind of jealous of it.

The first thing that came out was the Peirogi's. We got the Loaded baked potato Pierogis and you could get them fried or broiled... and we of course got them fried. These were really good. The potatoes tasted really fresh and it was really nice and crispy. The flavors of the bacon and everything inside were really good too. These were maybe the best Peirogi's ever and this was probably the lesser of the food items.

The other appetizer we got was... impressive. It was kettle corn that came out in a huge kettle. And it came out warm and it was just so so good! We did not think we'd be able to finish it... but then we just kept eating it and eating it throughout the night. They gave us a take home bag for it too- so we had some for the hotel for later!

Drinks

We both ordered a Manhattan Soda which was a coffee and espresso flavored soda. I don't think they had regular soda products like soft drinks at the restaurant- so this was a good non alcoholic option for dinner. I also got a Black Russian... It was good but I should have just ordered a White Russian. I wanted to try the luxardo cherry that came with the Black Russian- but I don't think they had it... so it just wasn't really my thing. I had the alcoholic drink with dessert and the Manhattan Soda with dinner.

Dinner

Aspen got the BBQ Pimento Cheeseburger which was really great. The pimento cheese they had on it was... delicious. It was really flavorful and really good. The fries that came with it were really good too!

I had the Southern Fried Chicken and Glazed Donut- which came with Mac and Cheese and Green Beans. The fried chicken was really good and nice and crispy. The glazed donut... didn't really go with it in my opinion. I prefer Chicken and Waffles for sure but it was a really really good donut! The mac and ceese was super flavorful and cheesey too... and the green beans were really really good too! I just really liked it.

Dessert

We got Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with Hot Fudge topping. It was good- not my favorite dessert and not the first thing I really would have picked... but it was still a really good cheesecake! Very creamy and delicious! I would recommend it!

So yeah... this was definitely one of the most delicious meals ever! They have other locations- mostly in the south. Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC I think are where all the rest of them are. They also have a secret room behind a library which I think is just for the investors and possibly the farmers... its pretty cool!

It was a cool place for sure. I'd totally go back or go to another location!
