February 2024 Read It Challenge Wrap Up
Okay so I did read 4 books this month and I listened to one audiobook... which I also count as a book read- but this book is part of a series so I may not include that until I listen to the full series. It is a series that I read before called the Mindf*ck series by ST Abby- and since all 5 books go together so well and are easy books to read/ listen to I would rather include it all together.
I really liked all 4 of these books... and they're all really different so it's hard to rank them... but I'm going to try my best.
1)Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang and Leuyen Pham
This is a gorgeous Graphic Novel with a very sweet story and very great characters. It's about a girl who loves Valentine's Day and she has an imaginary friend that is St. Valentine that she imagines as a Cupid and then she finds something out that has her feeling more bitter about love and she's not able to picture St. Valentine that way anymore... but she becomes more interested in Lunar New Year and some boys that she meets doing a Lunar New Year dance... there's a lot going on in this book... I loved it and I'll probably read it again next year around Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year.
2) It's a Date Again by Jeneva Rose- This was Jeneva Rose's first romance novel and I really thought it was cute and funny. The characters were really great and the concept was just funny. A girl named Peyton finds out who she loves, runs to tell them and then gets hit by a car and gets amnesia... shortly after 3 men all claim to be her boyfriend and she has to date them all again and figure out who she loves. There's also a liar among the 3 and she needs to figure out who the liar is too. This was a cute fast read and I loved it!
3) Ricochet by Krista and Becca Ritchie- this is the second book of the Addicted/ Calloway Sisters Series... and in this book Lo is in Rehab for his alcohol addiction and Lilly has to face her sex addiction alone. This was an interesting follow up because we see Lilly without Lo and we get a lot of flashbacks about what the couple was like before they started their fake dating. Plus we start to see the friendship forming between the characters and I really liked that part of it.
4) Percy Jackson and The Olympians: Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordin- so this was still a great book- but it is kind of a filler book. And it wasn't as much fun as The Lightning Theif. I still really liked it- I loved the characters I loved seeing Percy at sea and I loved the ending... but the quest wasn't as fun as the quest in the first book... and my favorite part about the first book was the US Landmarks and how they related to Greek Mythology. This one had more to do with Greek Mythology and the Odyssey- which I also really like... but I'm not sure I loved this as much as the first and I have a feeling the other books might be ones that I like a little bit more.
So anyway those are my February Reads- not what I initially picked out last month... but I still did some good reads and I'm excited to pick out books for next month!
Bye!
