Did I LOVE It?Only Murders in The Building Finale Recap and Review
Okay- I’ve been a bit behind on my Only Murders recaps- last week my dog was very sick- he is doing better right now but it’s been hard for me… plus I voted on the day I would have written my recap… I also have been working really early so I’ve been really tired too. Anyway- everyone should Go Vote tomorrow and… yeah! Let’s get to this amazing finale!
So last week we learned that it was Marshall P Pope that had something to do with killing Sazz and he also killed Glen Stubbins- Ben Glenroy’s Stunt Double… and I still assumed he had an accomplice… but in this episode Charles quickly figures out- Marshall could have worked alone because the West Tower apartments all have ledges- which would make it easy for a stunt double that Sazz trained to jump out the window and get out in time to clean the body before the trio noticed.
So Sazz and Marshall aka Rex Bailey were friends and she trusted him enough to read her script for the Only Murders In The Building Movie and he stole it from her and sold it to Bev Melon with his name on it… then he had the audacity to call it “our script” to Sazz when he didn’t do anything! It was all Sazz that wrote the script… ugh. That part really frustrated me.
We also learn that Marshall grew up as a hunter with perfect aim, and his father didn’t want him to be a writer because he was a killer… which he was.
We also see Mabel trapped in her apartment with Marshall P Pope and Charles and Oliver walk from the ledge of Vince Fish’s apartment to Mabel’s to go through the window- where he won’t be expecting them. They also stop him with the Eva Longoria 9 in one Multi Tool- which was great! And then just when it looks bad for the trio- someone shoots Marshall from Charles’s apartment and it is of corse Jan- the killer from Season 1- who escaped jail and was living in the secret passageways and Charles’s apartment… eating his Pirate’s Booty.
Anyway- after all of this we have Oliver’s Wedding to Loretta. Loretta is moving to New Zealand for her show the day after their wedding- but Oliver is still sure he’s going to marry her. He was going to move to New Zealand with her- but Loretta didn’t want to take him away from the Arconia… so they’re going to continue their long distance relationship- that has never been conventional. The wedding is beautiful, everyone has a great time… and it seems like there are no bodies. This is the last time we see Lester the Doorman alive also I believe. Spoilers- but Season 5’s victim is Lester the Doorman- who was found the next day at the fountain which was filled with his blood.
Before we find Lester- Charles and Mabel get a visit from Tea Leoni, the wife of the mob boss that had been mentioned during the season who got in the building because there was no doorman on duty… and she wants the gang to investigate her husband’s disappearance- which she says has everything to do with the Arconia… although Charles and Mabel reject her saying they aren’t detectives and they only investigate murders in the building.
Overall I think this was the best season. The mystery was the best and the jokes were the best. Plus… I didn’t like Marshall Pope and he got what he deserved. And Jan got justice because she loved Sazz- and she loves Charles. And Sazz was an even better character than she has been in past seasons… which was great to see her getting highlighted. I’m sad Lester is the victim next year- but happy he’ll get the treatment of Bunny and Sazz.
I am not a big fan of Tea Leoni… mostly because she was married to David Duchovny who I have a crush on… but I think she’ll do well with this cast on this show in particular. So… I’m kind of excited to see her on the show and another possible love interest for Charles.
I also ordered a bunch of Steve Martin books because my mom says he wrote a really good mystery- but she doesn’t remember what it was called or what it was about… and I had a hard time finding it… BUT I found some other books from him that sounded really good and they were just a few bucks on ThriftBooks… so I got a few that I will read and review sometime soon.
Okay I think that’s everything I have to say about this season. I’m really excited for this to come back… and it’s still kind of my favorite show. I love it!
Bye!
