Books I Read April Edition
Okay… April was not my best month for reading. I tried to read some trickier books and I ended up not finishing- but I’m not really DNFing them either… I’ll pick them back up in the next few months. I was also pretty busy with work stuff and family stuff in April so I wasn’t quite in the mindset… so yeah.
Anyway let’s talk about the books I finished first and the books I didn’t at the end.
So let’s start with HotHouse Flower- Which is the second book in the Calloway sisters series and the first book for Daisy and Ryke. I really loved this book- I didn’t think I was going to like Ryke’s point of view but I actually liked him a lot compared to the other guys. And I love Daisy so it was nice to see her get her own book! I will eventually do a full review on this one but I really liked it.
I also finished Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers… which I thought was okay. This was a book about a girl who recently got a PhD in Astronomy and she’s struggling to find a job and she goes to Vegas and ends up getting married to a girl who’s a waitress with a ghost podcast. Now I kind of wish this focused at least a little on her night in Vegas and not just the afterword of it… but it didn’t. She and the wife also both want to stay together- but neither one of them wanted to move to be with the other. Some of the writing was really beautiful and the ending made me smile… but this one wasn’t for me. It’s not bad but not for me.
After that I read Dragged To The Wedding- which I might finish today because I’m halfway finished with it…so I’ll probably talk about it more next month but I’m not liking it that much so far. It’s about a man that doesn’t want to come out to his parents yet so he brings a drag queen to his sisters wedding. It’s a funny concept but there are things about the book I’m not that crazy about.
I also didn’t finish Daughter of The Moon Goddess- which I love but it’s a long book and I’m reading it along with listening to the audiobook and that takes a little more time. So I will probably finish that this month when I have some time- but I didn’t finish it in April.
I also have a nonfiction book: The Devil’s Candy which is also great- this book is about the filming of a movie that ended up being a disaster- and it’s great but I put it down for now because I wanted to read some more fiction and I think I’ll finish this at home after I finish Daughter of The Moon Goddess.
So in May I’m definitely going to finish more books- especially since I’m halfway done with a lot of them. Plus I have a vacation week this month so I’ll have some time to read.
Bye!
