Bodies Bodies Bodies Movie Review
This is kind of a hard movie to review... cause I liked it but I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about it. I don't think this movie is for everyone.
I don't want to spoil the ending so I don't want to say a lot... but it starts with a group of unlikable characters at a "hurricane party" at their one friend David's house. Also... David is played by Pete Davidson. Our main character is Sophie, who was recently in rehab and is happy to be going to the party with her new girlfriend Bee. This is her first time seeing the group in a while.
There aren't that many characters and as I said they're kind of unlikable so... I'm just going to kind of give a brief description of them so I don't have to spoil too much and you can kind of see a little bit of the mystery.
David (Pete Davidson)- the guy having the house party. He drinks a lot and does drugs during the movie.
Emma (Chase Sui Wonders)- David's girlfriend who also does a lot of drugs and she's an actress. She didn't know why Sophie was there.
Alice (Rachel Sennott) - The most annoying one. She's kind of dumb, kind of wants attention and brought her boyfriend she's only known for a couple of weeks to the party. She has the glow necklace on.
Greg (Lee Pace) - Alice's older boyfriend who is a vet and has competition with David.
Jordan (Myha'la Herrold)- Sophie's ex girlfriend. Seems a bit flirty with Bee.
Max- Not at the party. Got in a fight with David and left.
Bee ( Maria Baklova)- Sophie's girlfriend who seems quiet and has a mysterious background.
And I've already talked about Sophie who is Played by Amandla Stenberg- who you may recognize as Rue from The Hunger Games!
They play a game of Bodies Bodies Bodies and someone ends up dead... and then more people end up dead... is it a coincidence or is one of them a killer?
I probably overexplained this movie but there's a lot to it and...the ending was strange and it's hard to talk about without spoiling that end... which is a theme of horror movies this year I think. While the twist was interesting and I didn't expect it at all... it was good... but it's slightly disappointing. People have compared this movie to Scream and I think that's a good comparison but... also not a good comparison. But I'm kind of glad it's not another Scream movie.
I also have to say the horror in this movie was kind of cool. It was all in the dark and that was very effective. And each of the female characters had a different way of lighting up the room or themselves and it says something about who they are. It's interesting.
Overall I liked the movie I would recommend it and I definitely want to watch it again...possibly this week. I think it might have an interesting commentary as well. It's a good movie.
Bye!
