Across the Spiderverse Review+ Friday Favorites
Okay so I wanted to do a quick review of my favorite movie of the year so far which is Spider-Man Across The Spiderverse! I loved the first Spiderverse movie and I was so looking forward to this one and I was disappointed it got delayed a pretty long time because of the pandemic... but it was definitely worth the wait. I think we were like 10 minutes or so into the movie and I whispered to my boyfriend "this is the best spider man movie of all time" and we hadn't even gotten to Miles yet!
So this movie does seem more like Gwen's movie than Miles- and I really liked it. I love Gwen in these movies and I really love her design in this one specifically... I didn't really notice in the first place- but as someone with a gap in her teeth- I liked seeing such a beautiful and cool character with a gap in her teeth! Plus it was just cool to see so many spider women that I would have really loved this as a kid. The plot might have been a little complicated for me as a kid- but I still think I'd have fun watching it because there are SO MANY really really cool Spidermen in this movie with all different powers and designs... I just really like it. My favorites: obviously Gwen, Miles and Peter B Parker. New characters: The Spot, Spider Woman, Spider Punk, and Pavitir Prabhakar aka Indian Spider Man. There are probably more cool ones I'm forgetting but I just loved all these characters and The Spot was just such a cool villain.
This is also a movie I wanted to watch again RIGHT away because there was just so much in the movie and there's a lot I probably won't catch until I see it a second time... but it's just such a great movie. It is definitely a must see in theaters and my favorite movie of the year so far!
Friday Favorites
Okay so my other favorites for the week! I went to Massachusetts with my amazing boyfriend this year and we had a lot of fun- I'll talk more about everything we did coming up soon. The hotel we stayed at and a lot of the food we ate was really good. I also tried a sparkling wine from a bar- I don't know that I've ever actually ordered Wine before anywhere- I usually just drink it socially with friends but I might actually get some and try to drink some more.
We watched Missing when we were winding down from our travels and that's a really fun movie with a lot of good twists. It's a sequel of the movie Searching sort of- but I actually liked Missing Better. Searching was a little bit more predictable and this one basically had some different twist every minute and it was quite exciting! I'll probably do a movie Monday on it coming up... possibly on Monday- possibly later on.
I've been kind of into docuseries lately and I watched the first episode of the Arnold Schwarzenegger one this week and I really like it. I've also watched the Anna Nicole Smith documentary and the Jared Fogle one. I don't know if I would put them as "favorites" because those stories are much more tragic... I don't necessarily think the Anna Nicole one was that accurate and the Jared Fogle one is very hard to watch.
Panera has some good cookies too- and I had some of those this week. I got the lemon one and the candy one. Really good!
I think that's everything! I hope you guys like this! Definitely see Spider Verse and I'll talk more about everything else soon!
Bye!
