24 Memorable Foods of 2024
So these aren’t the best things I ate or anything- these are just 24 foods that were memorable for the year. I’m not posting restaurant restaurants- kind of just things where I traveled and… stuff like that.
1-The Krabby Patty Kollab
This was exciting. I always wanted to try a Krabby Patty- so I was happy to get one from Wendy’s this year. The pineapple under the sea frosty was really good too! Overall I loved that they did this even though it was a regular Dave’s Single.
2. Donair
We were excited to try Donair when we went to Halifax this summer and it did not disappoint! We went to The King of Donair and I really liked it.
3. Garlic Fingers
Apparently you have to get Garlic Fingers with Donair and you have to dip it in the Donair sauce… and it’s really good! It’s kind of like Crazy Bread.
4. BBQ Chicken
This is a really great chain for Korean barbecue wings. I only went once but I really want to go back soon.
5) Wawa Pierogi Quesadilla
Okay I had this late at night after seeing the sumo wrestling match and it’s really good. I told one of my coworkers about it because she goes to Wawa a lot after work and she liked it a lot too!
6) Wawa Brownie
They got us Wawa for work one time and the brownie and the pretzels were both really good.. but the Brownie stands out the most! It was really good!
7) Bliss Caffiene Bar-
Another great Halifax Treat! We went to Bliss Caffiene Bar twice for breakfast. They had really great waffles and they had good coffee and breakfast cocktails too. I would definitely go back here- it was really really good!
8) Canadian Candy
Canada has really great candy- specifically their Kit Kats are really good. Smarties are kind of like M&Ms but… they’re really good too.
9) Canadian Grocery Store Cupcakes
Ahhh I forget what it was called but we had some sort of traditional Canadian treat in like a cupcake form from the grocery store. It was really good.
10) KFC Chips
They had a kfc original recipe flavored potato chip at this grocery store too and it was really good!
11) Sprite Chill and Sprite Chill Icee
I really liked Sprite Chill! It tasted good in an icee form too. I think you can still get this at grocery stores- it’s worth trying. I really like the Chill aspect of it.
12) Tirimisu Ice Cream Cake
So the place I get my ice cream cake for my birthday from has different flavors you can get… so I got half ooey gooey Oreo and half tirimisu and the tirimisu was really really good.
13) Homemade Pizza
My boyfriend and I made pizza a few times and they turned out really good! New Jersey has really good Pizza- but if you live outside of NJ or New York- it might be better to make your own pizza than get it anywhere.
14) Fish and Chips in Canada
Another favorite from Canada- I had fish and chips from a pub and it was so good.
15) Tim Hortons
I also really loved and miss Tim Hortons in Canada! I had the tirimisu cold brew and I got a different breakfast sandwich and donut each time I think. My favorite I think was the Dutchie but they were all really good.
16) Cousins Maine Lobster
I had this from a food truck at a food truck festival and it was really good! I think I had a lobster roll and the lobster tots or something maybe? I forget but I liked it!
17) Popcorn
Popcorn will always be a favorite. I particularly liked it at the Sumo World Championship- but it was good at all the movies I saw and… it’s just good in general. Popcorn will probably always be on my list!
18) Deluxe Hot Chocolate from the Christmas Market in Philly
I really liked the hot chocolate that they had in Philadelphia at the Christmas Markets. They put marshmallows and whipped cream in it and it was so good and so cold outside that we really liked it!
19)Poutine
We got poutine at a chain burger place on our way back to the hotel from Lunenberg? Or somewhere nearby where my friends dad lives. It was really good- I had gotten something in my eye and my eye was really bothering me- but I felt better after a bit and the burger and poutine were really good! I forget what kind of poutine we got… but it was really good!
20) Fried Mozzarella at Chilis
So my boyfriend did a Meatless King challenge in February- where he didn’t eat meat for the month and we usually order the classic nachos at Chili’s- but those have meat in them somewhere… so we ended up getting the fried mozzarella and it’s really good. Chilis is getting trendy again- which I hate because I have always loved Chilis and I go there all the time and idk what’s going to happen if everyone starts going to Chilis… but the Mozzarella sticks are really good. They’re a LOT though so we haven’t ordered them since… I also think my boyfriend didn’t really like them and I didn’t like them as much as the classic nachos… but they’re still really good.
21) Junior’s
Junior’s is kind of my go- to spot in New York City. It’s really good. I went there twice this year I think- it’s just easy and pretty quick to go to before going to a Broadway show- they’ve got a lot on the menu. Overall it’s just a great place.
22) Small cafe’s coffee places
Okay - so I was going to list the specific place my boyfriend and I went to- but he goes there quite often and I don’t want to Dox us on this list but… just find a local coffee spot and try it out. They usually have a lot of variety and sometimes they have fun events going on too!
23) Cow Tails
I love Cow Tails and I got a lot in Canada actually. I don’t think the new flavors I got were exclusive to Canada but we went to this place called Freak Lunchbox and they had Cow Tails so I got some! They have a strawberry flavor I like and I think a Cinnabon flavor that was really good… and an Oreo flavor that I didn’t like all that much… but it was pretty good still.
24) Apple Sour Patch Kids
Okay I originally had freeze dried candy on the list and then I remembered the harvest Apple sour patch kids which were really really good. My dentist hates both sour patch kids and especially freeze dried candy… but these Apple harvest sour patch kids are really great… just brush your teeth after.
Okay- that is everything! I hope you guys like it!
Bye!
