2023 in Girly Pop
Okay I have to be 100% honest... I feel like I did not pay that much attention to the music released this year. I tried to do some research and... I just couldn't really find many songs I knew from people I really Recognize and like... sooo here's my Girly Pop favorites from 2023.
I can't talk about Girly Pop without mentioning the Barbie soundtrack of corse. Lizzo's Pink, Dance The Night Away, and my personal favorite What Was I Made for by Billie Eillish... that song makes me cry. These songs were all a little too short but they were all so great. I ALMOST FORGOT Barbie Girl by Nikki Minaj and Ice Spice... love that movie. These songs really get me excited and emotional and I love them!
Miley Cyrus had new music this year and... it's some of her best ever... plus THE TEA SPILLED with this album... it was great. I love Flowers, I Used To Be Young is one of those songs that makes me want to cry... great songs.
Selena Gomez is one of my favorite actresses and celebrities in general... and it's not that I don't like her music... but it's never been my favorite... but THIS YEAR it changed! I really liked Single Soon... and it's probably one of my favorite releases of the year. I also really loved her on Calm Down... that's a good song too.
I think this was the year Bloody Mary from Lady Gaga was rereleased as a single... maybe it was last year but... I love Born This Way and all the songs on it so... this makes sense.
I think my absolute favorite song of the year would be Seeing You Tonight by Olivia Rodrigo. Olivia Rodrigo just... her breakup songs and her angry songs are the best. I heard Seeing You Tonight on a few TikTok's and I was like "wow... this is the best 80s song ever." And then I saw it was a brand new song from Olivia Rodrigo and it's amazing.
Okay that's 2023 in girly pop- I will see you tomorrow for a Movie Monday I think.
Bye!
