13 Days of Blogoween: Squid Game Review SPOILERS

So I wanted to do this for a long time... and HOPEFULLY this year I'll actually be able to give you 13 blogoween posts with different scary things. So far... I've got 3 things I can review... so just 10 to go. Lol.

ANYWAY Squid Game is probably my favorite show that's ever been on Netflix. It is so so good and it's definitely worth the hype in my opinion. So now I've watched the series through 1 time and then I started rewatching it with the dub but I haven't watched it all the way through yet. I would definitely recommend watching it in the original Korean language- the Dub is a little boring and silly- but there are things I noticed with the Dub that I didn't really notice when I was watching it in Korean. So... I'll talk about that a little when I get there... but I'm going to kind of break it down, let you know what order to watch it in... and... yeah. Actually... I won't tell you what order to watch it in... maybe I'll do that another day because I'm going to post spoilers here and... if you haven't watched it I don't want to spoil anything.

So- I think I mentioned in my Clickbait review I guessed the ending right away... and in this one too I sort of guessed halfway through. I just didn't trust Il Nam... Especially after the Marbles episode. It just seemed weird to me that he was the only old person in the games- plus he made it really far... and he knew EXACTLY what to do in Tug of War and Marbles so it seemed like he had a hand in what was going on. I thought The Front Man was in charge and I thought he was The Front Man's father. But the way he was betting all his marbles against Gi- hun... he knew too much. It made sense to me that he came back. This was a little more surprising to me than most twists... but still... I feel like that made sense.

The first episode totally had me hooked. I was like on the edge of my seat through all of Red Light, Green Light and I was like "cross, cross, cross" and when he finally crossed I was like "YES!!!!" I was so excited for Gi- hun and I really wanted him to win.

And as we started to meet all of the other characters too- they were all really good. Whether you liked them or not... they were very good and the way they all acted just.. made sense I guess. They used every little detail in this show... and I have a feeling if it wasn't used or wasn't used that much... it'll come back in Season 2 if they make a Season 2.

So there are 7/8 characters we follow in the games and then we have a cop that is trying to find his brother who disappeared- so he goes undercover as one of the red soldiers. We also have 218 (Sang Woo) , Gi-Hun's friend from the same town, Ali- who saves Gi Hun's life in the first game, Il Nam- who is the old man with a brain tumor, Sae-byeok- a pickpocket originally from North Korea, Mi- Nyeo- the Karen of the games, and Deok- Su- the gangster and the strongest. There's also a doctor that is learning what the games are beforehand because he's helping the red soldiers harvest the players organs to sell on the black market. And there are a few other characters we learn a little bit about and who join the team for Tug of War... but these are who we follow for the most part.

And the games they do are all really good. The first game is Red Light, Green Light- which is definitely the most interesting to watch with the biggest group of people, then they have Honeycomb, Tug of War, Marbles, Hopscotch and then the Squid Game. Tug of War was probably the most fun to watch because that one did involve some good strategy. Marbles kind of broke me and I was sad... and Hopscotch was probably my least favorite because they just kind of designed it to kill off just about everyone. It was interesting to see... but it frustrated me that they didn't really start earlier or jump at the same time.

I'm not sure who my favorite character was... I thought Mi- Nyeo was really interesting and I liked her relationship with Deok-Su. I was really upset when Sang-Woo tricked Ali... I also wish we saw a bit more of Sae-byeok because her story was interesting. The characters were all really good... and even like the side story with The Doctor was kind of resolved quickly- but that was pretty good too... it was all good.

Overall... the best show I've seen in a while. One of my favorite shows on streaming and... I just think it's a good watch.

Alright tomorrow I think I'm going to write another review on a streaming movie... The Muppet's Haunted Mansion on Disney+. Hope you guys like this!

Bye!
