13 Days of Blogoween: Freaky Review
Yayyy Freaky Friday... Okay- lets talk about a Horror movie I saw that I was so excited about... It came out when I was not comfortable going to the theaters yet- I bought the DVD because it was on sale and I wanted to see it... and I JUST watched it recently so... yeah.
And I have to say- I really enjoyed it when I watched it... but I would have been disappointed had I watched Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2 U before watching this... I feel like I would have maybe expected a little more... because I did really love those movies and I just watched those afterwards... I'll review them tomorrow or Sunday but...wow.
Anyway so yeah Freaky- is a Freaky Friday movie about a young girl who's pretty but she's not really liked in school and she isn't popular... and she switches bodies with The Butcher- a notable serial killer/ Urban Legend of the town who's face just became known to the public. Vince Vaughn actually does a really good job playing a silly teenage girl and also playing a disturbing serial killer. Kathryn Newton was also really good as Millie- although for most of the movie she played The Butcher- she did a good job playing a really creepy character. I feel like being in a body switch movie can be hard to act in because you're playing 2 different characters... but it must be really fun too. And it seems like they had fun with it and it ended up really good.
The movie wasn't too scary or gory- I'm actually surprised it was rated R... i was going to say it was a scary PG-13 movie... but it did actually have an R rating and it wasn't too scary for an R rating... I would say it's more of a comedy than an actual scary movie... but overall it's great... but I would say it might be a disappointing follow up from the director of Happy Death Day. I really liked the Happy Death Day movies and this one doesn't quite hold up... but I would say maybe a sequel or even a possible crossover with Happy Death Day would help it.
Bye!
